no way a fanbase film like bond get a 1:6 ratio for written reviews.

From the very limited information so far, the only thing I could say is Prison is pretty much dead. I don't expect a written ratio lower than 1:5, so look like 50 reviews maximum for now and 200 max for the day, and with the low grade, the high end for it looks to be $1.5m. $1.0m is more likely.

Let's Go to Prison certainly isn't clearing 1.5 million, I think 1 million is optimistic. I know I've been saying everyone's been overpredicting it for awhile but I really do think that it's looking at possibly .7 million or less today.

My $3.7 opening weekend for Let's Go to Prison might turn out to be it's final total, and that's being optimistic.

Always a good sign to go from a C- to C oh and that aint a bad grade for Royale either.

3 updates left...these are going to be insanely low ratios unless there's a massive increase.

Like we've witnessed in prior weeks, it looks like we will pass 3:30 AM EST still quite clogged. There should also be low ratios for Casino & Happy Feet, judging by the theater reports.

Awful for Let's Go to Prison but it deserves it. What an atrocious film.

The final update should be big, but probably not going to resolve all the clogging.

Oh well, didn't happen:

Casino Royale - 631 (323), +16, B+
Happy Feet - 403 (116), +7, B+
Let's Go To Prison - 77 (22), +1, C+

I'm giving up. There isn't much to project if Yahoo continues to behave this way.

Well, I'd guess that HF should have over 1,200. CR about 1,700. So, maybe 16m each without checking Crowd Reports. Maybe I'm going too high.

Deadline Hollywood has an early projection of $14M for CR & $11M for Happy Feet. Don't know how accurate this might be, but the former sounds a little low given all the sellouts.

Evenings: Bond #1 Beats Birds #2

FRIDAY PM: I'm told U.S. matinees and evenings were very strong for both Casino Royale and Happy Feet today. But Sony/MGM's Bond flick pulled ahead -- $14 million from 3,434 theaters to the Warner penguins pic's $11 million from 3,804 playdates. Both look like they could go higher when the Friday totals are tallied. Right now I hear estimates are for both Casino Royale and Happy Feet to open to $40+ million for the 3-day weekend -- the first time this has ever happened with dual pics. Presently, the edge goes to Bond. But the birds should get a Saturday kiddie bounce. That's why box office gurus were saying it was still too close to predict a winner at the start of the weekend. Meanwhile, 007 is opening this weekend in 27 countries, including Russia (and will show in China later). Already, the Martin Campbell directed, Daniel Craig starring, pic had the biggest opening ever for a Bond film in the UK yesterday with 1.7 million pounds, beating the previous high from Die Another Day's 1.1 million pounds. Tickets sold for Casino Royale were 67% of the day's total box office. Ultimately, it may come down to running times and theater count to see which will open No. 1 in America this weekend: Warner's Happy Feet is only 1 hour, 38 minutes long with 3,804 playdates, while Sony's Casino Royale is 2 hours, 24 minutes long (the longest Bond flick ever) with 3,434 theaters. The penguins have more showings per day and in more theaters. But that's balanced by those cut-rate kiddie tickets. Right before the weekend, Sony was lowering expectations for Casino Royale to come in second to Happy Feet here -- counting more on foreign sales. The last 007 was Die Another Day, which had a 2-hour running time and earned $47 mil for its Nov. 22, 2002, opening weekend. It went on to earn $160 mil domestically, $271 mil overseas, for a cume of $432 mil. It was the biggest grosser of Bond's Pierce Brosnan series. More as it comes in...keep refreshing for the latest.

I project that CR has 1800-1850 reviews, Happy Feet 600-650, and Prison 150. Best guess with the unresolved clogging is $15-18M for Casino Royale, $11-13M for Happy Feet, and $0.75M-$1.0M for Let's Go to Prison.

Looking at this and the crowd report thread I get a sense of about 10-11m range for both. I'd love to be wrong though and be underguessing, especially CR.
