I think they should use him as their #2 starter in the playoffs (which I hope we don't play them in the ALDS). I'm all for facing the Red Sox or the Angels, but the Yankees scare me. Johnson, Chacon, Small, and Moose are a hell of a rotation to go with that offense. If we play the Yanks if the ALCS then we have a chance. The first round experience with be enough to make us equals to the Yankees, but in the ALDS, it's gonna be very tough. I now have a down with the White Sox attitude. I'd rather Boston in there. Doubt it's going to happen though. Chicago gets 4 games against Detroit. If Detroit actually tries, they might win one. Gonna come down to the last series, should be exciting. I'm buying playoff tickets tomorrow. Would suck if I had to return them. Good post. Cleveland and Boston are the only teams I'm scared of going into the playoffs. Cleveland because of Millwood, Lee, CC plus offense, and Boston because when rivals face each other anything can happen.

Maverikk Award Winning Bastard Joined: Wed Oct 13, 2004 12:03 am Posts: 15310 Location: Slumming at KJ	It's almost as if it was scripted, since the Yankees and Red Sox play eachother the final 3 games, and so do the Indians and White Sox. The Indians should be able to clinch something based on their schedule, but I want the division now. The White Sox don't get a day off. They've got two more with the Twins (who better start hitting), and then 4 with Detroit before they come into Cleveland for the final series, so Cleveland's fate as far as winning the division is entirely going to be in their own hands. torrino College Boy T Joined: Mon Oct 11, 2004 7:52 pm Posts: 16020	The average GPA for the 5 cleveland starters is 4.043. That's fucking beautiful. You expect your #2 and #3 pitchers to have that kind of number, not your whole team. And, watch out for Elarton. He's inconsistent, but when he's good, he's very good. Judging by his last eight games...he's given up 4 or more runs three times (4 runs once, 7 runs the other two times) and he's given up 2 or less the other five times (none twice, one run twice, two runs once). I frankly think Cleveland's the best AL team right now. Best Pitching in the AL (an ERA .79 better than New York, 1.12 better than Boston, and .04 better than the Sox) and the fourth best hitting in the AL (behind Boston, New York, and Tampa, but not by much...then again, that also factors in April, in which we hit like .230 or something).

If the impossible happens, and Cleveland, New York, and Boston finish with the same exact record (assuming Chicago and LAA win their divisions), wouldn't Cleveland win the wild card since New York and Boston would have to play another game to decide the division and the loser of that game automatically has a worse record than Cleveland?

If Yankees don't win the division then that's not gonna happen. With a 4 series against the Tigers, The White Sox are all but guranteed to make the playoffs. Even if they lose the next two to the Twins and the Indians win, they'll still lead in the Wildcard. So I'm pulling for Boston to not make it right now. I'd rather Chicago get shut out, but unless the Tigers show some life they haven't had all month, not gonna happen.

I would say it was maybe 70/30 in favor of the Sox fans. As for the game, the Sox gave up a run in the 9th, but still held on to win. Now hopefully the Yankees can lose once again tomorrow and the Sox can sweep the series against the Orioles. It also would help if the Royals do something against the Indians. Boston and New York are both 1 1/2 back, and they play eachother the last 3 games, so that helps Cleveland no matter what the outcome. One of those teams is going to lose 2-3 of those games.
