Can someone explain these drops? I'm a little surprised with all of them.

Yeah, a little unusual for a Thursday. Can't think of a reason.

Again decent numbers overall. Mostly small declines which is expected, though I am a bit suprised by the decline of Sisterhood. Which I suppose is typical of a Wednesday opening but with the numbers low like that I expected a better hold.

Terrible drop for Sisterhood. Even my $12 million prediction is too high.

Yea, but didn't Clones and Menace increase slightly on the same day of their run?

AOTC increased and TPM dropped. I would pay more attention to last year than 2002.

Everything is still leveling off from Monday.
I thought this week's dailies would be pretty close to last year's.

Thursdays normally fall, don't they? I thought the other week when they rose was the anomaly.

No, normally, holdovers increase on Tuesday and Thursday and drop on Wednesday.

I was looking at the dailies for some of the big blockbuster movies in the recent years and it seems to be split 50/50 as far as increases on Thursday go. So it probably depends on quirky factors like school closings, weather, etc.

I was thinking of going with 9m-10m in the derby for Sisterhood. I regret that I increased it over 10m.

Well, still, teh numbers are a little low, but nothing too shocking. I just checked last years numbers and the drops are quite conssitent with lst year.

One thing, Thursday increases are more common during the school year then the summer.

Oh, that explains it then! Although I would have thought the opposite.

Didn't really know where to post this, but I thought this was an interesting article (from CNN) on Crash's success (which appears to still be going strong): http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Movies/ ... index.html

ok, not too bad for Star Wars. I've been dissapointed with this weeks drops, but it looks to be back on track now. Hoping for a 100% increase Friday (though unlikely) and be at about $8M. Then it'll avoid the 50% drop :-).

Even with the drop for SISTERHOOD, I still think it will pull in some pretty decent numbers.

I wouldn't expect ROTS to follow AOTC's drops from this point forward. Expect it to plummet nearly 95% this weekend and top out at about $290-295 million.

I disagree, I don't think it will drop 95%....that is a little high. More like a drop of about 80-85%. That way it'll make 300 mill.

Mark my words. If this film makes over $300 million, I'll cook my own penis and eat it.
