SITH is going to eat this film alive.
Longest Yard has the misfortune to be targeting the same young male demographic that Star Wars does, and I think that younger guys are going to be preoccupied with SITH next weekend.
Madagascar, on the other hand, will probably do OK, since it has a more rounded appeal, and parents with younger kids can take them to see it while tweens and teens go to SITH.
I see no more then a 20 million 3-day opening for Longest Yard. And a 35-40 million opening for Madagascar.

I actually do think this looks good now, before I thought it looked like shit, but im sticking with my early opening weekend prediction for the most part but a better total, mostly because ROTS will take alot of its thunder.
Opening - 40m ( 4Day )
Final - 115m

BTW, I saw the movie during an employee screening, and It is alot funnier than the trailer makes it look. The movie was completely hysterical. I think this should get great WOM.

Well any employee screening that doesn't cost you anything is bound to get a positive reaction to pretty much any film you see since your not losing any $$$ if it sucks, even an Adam Sandler movie.. The reviews at RT are not kind and neither is the Rating which is "SPLAT".. Same for Madagascar.. It to is a "SPLAT".. Not good when heading into the Memorial Day Weekend.. SITH gets my $$$ and just for the hell of it, so will Amityville if I can find it..

WOM should be great. Lots of people are saying that the movie is so much funnier than the trailer makes it out to be...
Opening: $40.5 million / $50.6 million
Total: $131.6 million
My analysis has a smaller total, but I have more faith in the legs, now.

Sorry but F the reviews.
Do you really think this is a critics movie.

And as someone who has seen free movies cause I used to get some free passes from work,
whether or not you pay for a movie, it is painful to watch a bad movie.
It doesn't make it easier to see.
I know I have given up and walked out of a couple of freebies early on because they were horrible.

This is a Sandler film and it has a built in audience. This film will succeed. It won't be monstrous, but Mr. Deeds numbers seem reasonable.

Good news.
Who makes the movie?
Sandler, Rock, Burt Reynolds, someone else?

35/112
Which is probably low, but - my feelings about this one are colored by the fact that I really liked the original and just can't see Sandler, who is no athlete, in the role played by Burt Reynolds, who was a a star at FSU.
blah blah enough with the needless remakes blah.

Not all the time. When we had an employee screening for Hellboy, the reaction was mostly negetive.

Well I didn't post my final predictions in this thread, but I told ya'll it would be a huge hit. Honestly, with the great WOM this has, I wouldn't be surprised if this became Sandler's biggest film.
