These are 4-day predictions
1. Madagascar 90.1
2. ROTS 75.0
3. LY 48.5
family movies surprise during memorial day weekend. Think Bruce Almighty and how that came out of left field. Also, there's no way the top movie doesn't gross at least $90 million. Sith is unlikely to drop that little so that's why I'm giving Madagascar the edge here.

3-Day
1. Madagascar - $67
2. ROTS - $58
3. The Longest Yard - $34
With the rest of the movies with low numbers, this will be yet another weekend behind 2004's.

90 million for Madagascar? This isn't a Pixar film for heaven sakes. I'm sure over 50 is reasonable 3day but 90 4day is just unreasonable.

I don't need to bet. I can tell you that you're wrong even before it's happend.
Madagascar will NOT make 90 million over the 4 day. That's just reality. Does anyone really think this film will have one 30 million dollar day? I don't think so. The movie looks good, interesting and funny but PLZ.

It IS possible that Madagascar makes $90 million 4-day, although I agree that is very doubtful. Bruce Almighty surprised all and grossed $85 million for the 4-day, which is only 5 mil. short of $90 million. Seeing as how Madagascar is even more kid friendly, it could potentially grab the extra 5 million needed to get a $90 million 4-day. It's not that absurd. Personally I think Madagascar could have possibly achieved it had Star Wars not opened this past weekend, but I don't think it will now. Still, it's going to do better this weekend than some people are predicting. Some people are easily lowballing the film, in my opinion.
PEACE, Mike

Madagascar had a chance to open to that amount, but the marketing has been pretty weak thus far. Ads are now starting to pick up, so hopefully, it'll be able to do well this weekend. For now, though, I don't see how it can get over $80 million 4-day.
On the other hand, if Episode III follows the pattern of Attack of the Clones, we're looking at a $65 million 3-day weekend, and a $81 million 4-day weekend. It may sound like a whole lot, but realistically, there's a great chance. It doesn't seem to be as frontloaded as people are thinking, considering that it had a better drop on Sunday than Attack of the Clones (AND Shrek 2), even after such a monsterous weekend. Now, we'll have to see how it compares throughout the week, but for now, I'm thinking it'll dominate again.
1. Star Wars Episode III - $65 million / $81.3 million
2. Madagascar - $55 million / $71.5 million
3. The Longest Yard - $40.5 million / $51 million

May 27-29/30
Early Predictions
1. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith - $62.6 million / $78.9 million
2. Madagascar - $60.1 million / $76.9 million
3. The Longest Yard - $40.2 million / $50.7 million
4. Monster-In-Law - $9.6 million / $12.7 million
5. Kicking & Screaming - $6.4 million / $8.5 million
6. Crash - $4.7 million / $6.1 million
7. Unleashed - $2.1 million / $2.7 million
8. The Interpreter - $1.9 million / $2.4 million
9. House of Wax - $1.8 million / $2.4 million
10. Kingdom of Heaven - $1.8 million / $2.3 million
I think Sith should be able to top this weekend again, but just barely. Madagascar doesn't have the appeal to make $80 million over four days, and The Longest Yard will echo Sandler's other films. The rest will hold nicely with the holiday, but have no real effect.

And yes, it was just a group of 3 people that didn't like it. That post was mainly a joke, but I think I typed it too seriously.
I'll be seeing Star Wars tomorrow, so I can officially see what I'm predicting. \:D/

House of Wax might pass $30M after the 4 day

Hmmm, for three-day I'm guessing
Sith - 60 million
Madagascar - 51 million
Longest Yard - 38 million
For four day, madagascar will make up some leg room due to families being together, so:
Sith - 72 million
Madagascar - 65 million
Longest Yard - 45 million
edit**** Wow, and to think I always get 95 percentile on math related exams! I'm changing my predicts.
Sith - 54 million (50% drop)
Madagascar - 48 million
Longest Yard - 38 million
Four Day
Sith - 66 million
Madagascar - 62 million
Longest Yard - 43 million

Updated 3 day:
Madagascar - 74m
ROTS - 46m
The Longest Yard - 36m
Slightly lower for Madagascar, but I'm not really feeling it for TLY. As for ROTS, I am still predicting a huge drop.
