40m Didn't Keyser mention TLJ previews and $200m OW? Where? In their tracking over at BOT they were saying high 30s.

 Re: Thursday previews
I did not previews. I said PS(Presales) !!!!. That was not from me but industry reports. I had predicted 38-40m range for previews in my final update at BOT. Weekend I was even more conservative but I feel 200m should happen. https://forums.boxofficetheory.com/topi ... nt=4033998

And yet I was being ridiculous in saying that the numbers will go down. I wonder when you'll take off your blindfold about me and not judge me from what others have fed you.

 Re: Thursday previews
200m seems difficult as that would be a better previews multiplier than TLJ but we'll see

If these were OW numbers for mid ranged movie then yes but not for previews.

 Re: Thursday previews
I mean who knows $200M could still happen, but I'm actually leaning closer to it being more around $180-$190M considering it should be more frontloaded than TLJ. I never bought those early numbers from Deadline though and yeah BOT was pretty much on the money with their tracking for the previews.

 Re: Thursday previews
The Cats number is pathetic for a Broadway production that made $1.3 billion.

I was pretty clear in my previous post and I started this whole conversation suggesting that the numbers would go down and they did so what is it that you don't understand? Are you saying pre-sales for a $40m vs $45m are exact same?

 Re: Thursday previews
So $40 mil is not close to $45 mil? It's a simple question.

 Re: Thursday previews
They are mathematically yes but that is also true for $38m but that's not what we were talking about here.

 Re: Thursday previews
So since it was close, there WERE signs of it doing close to TLJ. Thank you, goodnight.

Maybe don't get mad when you say incorrect things. Then we wouldn't have this problem.

 Re: Thursday previews
Didn’t CATS cost $150m?? And apparently it’s unwatchable so it won’t pull a Greatest Showman. Also not sure how much overseas appeal it would have.
Oh Lord

 Re: Thursday previews
Cats was 95m, and Europe is where Cats is most popular. But you’d think the fourth most popular musical in America would have more interest for its film adaptation.

40m Yeah I trusted the BOT estimates more. They certainly had sample size, and there was a good diversity in the data, all pointing to the same range. So to no surprise, it was evidently representative.
