Is this the final film of a trilogy? If so, it might get a boost like Revenge of the Sith did.

Maybe biggest difference is 5th SW and a hit TV series in 4 years with more to come vs, both times the end of the series 3 years later.

Also after Solo was supposedly "tracking for a $170m 4-day OW" I stopped paying attention to what insiders had to say about Star Wars.

Its not tracking. i am talking about PS as of monday morning. its HUGE. Not in the same ballpark as Solo and way bigger than Rogue One. You will eat crow for sure.

That said early reviews seems to say its convulted and too much is stuffed into the movie. so not sure how legs would be.

I really doubt the legs on this one will have any redeeming qualities now. Most reviews mention good fan service and there is always December to help get TROS a BIG total but I see a decline from TLJ for sure. With reviews being this bad and unfavorable December 2019 release timeline (in comparison to Dec 2015 and Dec 2017 when 25th and 31st helped to have extended weekends) RO's total is definitely going to be a good target now, which is about 14% decline from TLJ.

The pressure is certainly back on the OW and it will be interesting how the audience react to what feels like first rotten main SW movie (specially now that the reviews have become so relevant).

Probably should've made this under Rogue One WW or domestic. It's certainly possible but I think OW should still be big. Even then Christmas should help it out but who knows.

I mean I still don't see this opening below $160M no matter how mixed the reviews are, but this Club definitely would have had a better chance if it was under RO domestic or WW.

Let's wait and see how the weekend unfolds. It was never going below $162m for sure but I still feel it will stall at $170m or so.

No chance. Looking at PS and sunday being so close to christmas, its gonna come close to 200m. Its PS for friday/saturday are very strong. Sunday is also good. This release date is perfect .it will have good run during holidays and then collapse post that.
