Good news indeed.
Out of the 48, how many do you think will be Jackbacks??? I'm going for 7.

Season 2 and the first 6 of 3 were C material, Season 1 and the remainder of Season 3 have been A material.

I think this may hurt them bad in the end.

Me too. Going by this 3 season method, Im not even sure we're going to get to that last season. I want 2 more seasons, which gives it less of a chance of the show being canceled before it's actually about to come to a conclusion.

ABC won't cancel it if they've paid out that much money to keep the talent.
48 episodes isn't the biggest committment ever made by a studio.

Only because it's a long wait. And unlike 24 fans that have become used to the long hiatus, some Lost fans seem to think that two weeks of repeats is an eternity between new episodes.
Personally, I'm glad for it.

Not to mention the dvds are huge, and it gives ABC a lot of critical credibility
Only about 50 episodes left overall, wow. It's almost like a countdown is on already.

As long as it doesn't get canceled, Im fine with it! Though I wish it were 2 seasons instead of 3, so I wouldnt have to wait another year.

not sure, but I don't know if I like them promoting the ending years down the line.
so what is going to happen, 3 years down the road in the last episode or the last ten minutes we are going to be toldor surprised by where they really are?

I really don't know why so many people didn't think Season 2 was even good.
If you ask me, out of the first two seasons season 2 probably had the best Lost episodes. Man of Science, Man of Faith, Orientation, Collision, and Live Together, Die Alone were Lost at the top of its game.
I agree as a whole it was not better than season 1 because it delivered a tad less consistently than the first season. The biggest mistake they made in season 2 was killing off Libby.

Season 2, as a whole, is not nearly as bad as the haters make it out to be. Sure, it's got its down moments, but not any more than season 1 or this season. It had a much better finale than season 1, and it had a pretty good stretch down the line from "One of Them" onward. It's definitely not worse than, say, the pre-hiatus stuff from this season.

S3 post hiatus

S3 pre-hiatus
Know this isn't the regular feeling, but for me S1 was the worst of all. In reality it did a good job with individualistic character development episodes, and the fun was getting the first flashbacks from each character and being shocked at what their pasts was, but other than that? The hatch, the numbers, the monster, and not much else. The show wasn't nearly as deep and complex as it is now. If most of the S1 episodes were played now, people would be complaining that they were filler, because of how entangled the show has become over the years... and I prefer it this way.

I wouldn't agree with that fully but I definitely agree that season 1 episodes, for the most part, would be considered filler today. However, I bet going back and watching them... we will notice and pick up on things we may not have before, especially little details that are being brought to the surface in the current season.... so it would still be engaging.

48 Episodes means... (this might contain spoiler about person who dies).
6 total Jack episodes = 6
6 total Kate episodes = 12
6 total Locke episodes = 24
3 Sawyer episodes = 27
3 Hurley episodes = 30
let's say...
3 Sun/Jin or Sun or Jin episodes = 33 (both of them won't die)
at least 2 Claire episodes = 35
3 episodes for Sayid (hopefully) = 38
Desmond? He's gotten 2 this year, maybe 4 more? = 42
Danielle, 1 episode = 43
5 misc. episodes. (like Ben or Juliet or Michael whomever depending on who lives)
Depends on who lives and who dies I guess.

think you made a math mistake which makes 11 misc unaccounted episodes, per your above.
6 total Kate episodes = 12
6 total Locke episodes = 24, shouldn't this be 18

Tonight's episode looks amazing (and it's supposed to be great and INSANE, according to Canadian vewers).
