Only the first six episodes (less than a third of a season) of Lost were not up to scratch, but almost everything since then has been terrific. Right now, it's better than 24 and Heroes. ;)

wont deny that. However the two best tv shows this season have been Friday Night Lights and The Office

Yeah, between now and Sylar getting out, that paper factory is the most poorly securitized base I've ever seen.

Fun episode, not one of the best this season but fun.

Lost has never been better in my opinion, yep better than season 1. The first 6 episodes of season 3 were iffy but by the halfway point of the season things were better than ever.

I don't think the time travel is messing up the story. But that shape shifter girl is something I wish they didn't rely on.

What's worse, her main use of the ability is to taunt people with loved ones. I like that she's Israeli and her backstory sounds pretty cool, but I wish some of that could get onto the show.

Don't worry, they'll probably forget about her like they did the girl who could instant message people! (though granted that power was really lame)

Bleh, while Lost does have its charm, I would prefer not to be watching another one. I don't want to wait for the series finale to finally get any sort of closure on anything.

There's a world in between the two extremes though. It was a little too much to have Peter die, his relatives mourn, he comes back to life and then people are like nothing ever happened, all in about 30 minutes. Then they also pack in Hiro going to the future, a major character dying and as others have said the breakout of Primatech was too easy and other things.

I agree it shoudn't imitate Lost in trying to build up slowly but there's a happy middle. I'm sure they'll smooth it all out over the next few episodes, but this one felt kind of rushed.

The length of the death didn't matter as Peter's death was only used to bring the cheerleader to nathan quicker.

Here's some spoilerish (kinda, but not really... you won't be spoiled about anything specific from the remaining episodes, but I'll white-text it anyway) stuff from E!Online:

Kevin in Chester Heights, Pennsylvania: Will Heroes have a new cast of characters in season two? Any info on this?

E!Online's Kristin Veitch: First off, if you want Heroes dish and you haven't already checked out today's all-Heroes edition of the Vine, watch it now for tons of scoopage from the stars themselves. Secondly, mastermind Tim Kring told me about season two, "There are plans to add one new, one big character next season." I’m told that character is female—to even out the gender ranks a wee bit. Tim also told me that those Heroes who remain are likely to stick around, 'cause he's changed his m.o. "I thought Heroes was going to have an ever-shifting cast," he says, "but the cast hit in such big ways that now the challenge is to figure out how to use them all and still fold in a couple of new people, because I still think that the origin stories are the most fascinating, in some ways."

That's a relief, because I'd heard recently that they planned to ditch most of this cast next year and I thought that was a real shame. Glad they decided to alter those plans. But that means if they are deviating from their plan and scrambling to figure out how to use the popular heroes, the next season will probably be a bumpy ride.

It's probably just me, but after watching tonight's episode, Heroes went from being a very good show to a really mediocre one (This didn't happen tonight, it's been a gradual feeling I've had since Christmas). So how many ties could we have to Bush/The Episode III Reference and X2 in one episode? The whole thing just seemed to feel like a "been there, done that" kind of thing.

It had a whole "ripped from the pages" kind of vibe, except instead of a newspaper it's ripped out of the X-men comic books.

By the way, not all evil future presidents who are interested in the annihilation of a race/culture are Bush allegories.

I know. To me it was just the most obvious.

I think it's a simple "President with total power who is also evil and will go to drastic measures to get his way" storyline that is used in many, many TVs and movies, even before Bush was president. The only difference is that New York was destroyed in this one, which I suppose can tie into the WTC.

I liked it though I saw Slyar as Nathan a mile away. I admit they did slightly rip off Days of Future Past. I guess Sylar is Apocolypse in the X-Men Universe.

I agree with Jedi, shades of Days of Future Past this was, and that story was much more chilling. I miss X-Men.

I think the show lost some energy when they turned the Haitian and HRG into good guys. Even though it was planned all along, still they had been effective scary guys for the first half of the season.

I thought last night's episode was great. Like, one of the best of the season.

Whatever

The only way this show can survive is if they start having NEW storylines. Enough of this NY blowing up really. Like, I want this storyline to end this season.

And they already said next season's storyline would be different.

Wasn't my favorite episode, that'd be the episode that focused entirely on Bennett and Claire's family, but it was still great. I don't think the show has dropped off in quality a bit.

Agreed on both counts

"Company Man" was probably the only A+ episode of Heroes this season, but there are at least six or seven more in the A/A- range, and last night was oe of them.
