I will say from watching the trailers that the opulent "OTT" style is completely in line with the Zoroastrianistic beliefs of the Persian empire at the time due to the Monasticist denial inherently present within it.
But i'll have to watch the whole film before making any more judgements. Wtf...
You don't run into Zoroastrianism and Monastism in everyday life

I will say, 300 has some of the best one-liners ever. I've already used "Tonight we dine in hell!" today.
My own personal favorite has to be "Give them nothing, take from them everything", though.

That petition was amusing. The advent of the internet has rendered activism an armchair sport.

I also liked Gorgo reusing Theron's skeezy line.

loyalfromlondon wrote: The only thing keeping 300 from being pure perfection is that the screenplay doesn't really work. But it's a graphic novel brought to life in explosive fashion. I could care less that the political subplot was zzzzzz.
I wanted less talkie-talkie and more stabbie-stabbie. The side plot with his wife was irritating, you can't imply she's so smart that her husband values her opinion and then she's dumb enough to trust West and drop her dress, wtf, possibly the dumbest female character in an action movie ever. Once she lets West fuck what reason does he have to do anything for her? Honestly, the whole scene in the Hall was just boring after the idiotic meeting between then. I like BUtler and scenes with the Spartans, they were fun. JaWS mCbunty wrote: Libs wrote: I will say, 300 has some of the best one-liners ever. I've already used "Tonight we dine in hell!" today.

That's awesome, I am going to start doing that...
The film did have great one liners, especially from Butler, who was really charismatic on the screen, much better hear then in the Phantom.
