We Are Marshall started with 26 reviews. Rocky Balboa still shows only 2,314 reviews, but the number of written ones has increased to 838.

Legs on this one will be very good. It will drop significantly no doubt. But that is pretty normal for a Wednesday opener. But the weekend will be strong, legs will be strong, and i think its run will be quite healthy.

Night at the Museum 4, +0, A
We Are Marshall* 3, +0, A
The Good Shepherd 3, +0, NA
* We Are Marshall started the day with 3 written and 26 overall reviews. Both are significant enough to remove from the final tally tonight.

The Good Shepherd's pacing suggests a lower ratio of 12-15 right now. Night at The Museum looks like it could have a single-digit ratio, but not as low as Charlotte's Web. I'm thinking 7-8 at the moment. We Are Marshall still looks about right so far.
I'm seeing a correlation between high Power Scores and high ratios, which makes perfect sense. Apocalypto, Eragon, and Rocky Balboa were all films that I gave strong scores to and ended up with high written ratios.

I think the correlation is between all of those films being featured on the Yahoo front page

And there goes the starting ratio. It was doing fairly well even before it showed up there, though.

So you really think We Are Marshall has done $3 Mill already by 4PM est? The ratio's are gonna be all jacked up again today meaning that the yahoo system is gonna be worthless again today just like it was with Rocky.
Marshall isn't going to do $8 Mill today. I doubt it will do $3 Mill today.

Well reading the writtens on Marshall I would say probably half of them are BS. Also like I said the ratios are going to be jacked up again.
Also, yes George Michael is gay.

Maybe We Are Marshall is just going to do good. A true story football movie only opening to like 8 mil over 4 days is ridiculous, when was the last time a sports film like this bombed? Answer is never.

Second time in two days a question has already been addressed yet people still converse about it.
We Are Marshall was on the frontpage, therefore its written reviews are higher than normal.
This thing is DOA.

My projections:
Night at the Museum - $11M
The Good Shepherd - $3.5M
We Are Marshall - $2.5M
I placed NATM's ratio at 8-9. I see no reason why it should go any lower than that, especially since this targets a broader demo than CW. We Are Marshall was afflicted with the frontpage poison, so I'll say 30-35 for it (even though it wasn't on there very long). I've restored Shepherd's original ratio of 20-22.

It seems that quite often with rural skewing films that Yahoo tends to underestimate how they do, so I think Marshall could outdo those levels, and do $3 m +.

Anyone have an idea what Rocky did last night?
