The Grudge 2 posted solid numbers tonight, including 4 sellouts at my theater. I think $9-10M is likely.
I don't see The Marine having a ratio over 200. It should post $2.5M+ tonight, IMO.
Man of the Year is doing pretty well. It should meet or exceed tracking (I expect a low ratio).
One Night With The King's ratio is iffy, but the signs indicate a decent Friday. Perhaps close to $1.5M.

I'm going with a slightly-high 73 ratio for The Grudge and a $9.3m day.

An excellent day for Yahoo, and without much adjustment during the tracking.

For those who thought Yahoo reviews were dead, it's stronger than ever. It was right on again this weekend.

It was an OK week. You can get a general idea how it's doing, but it's becoming more of an art than a science.
Grudge
Predicted 10.58
Actual 10.01
Accuracy: 95%
Man of the Year
Predicted: 4.48
Actual 4.09
Accuracy: 91%
Actual 2.37
Actual 2.63
Accuracy: 90%

I'd say 90-95% accuracy is pretty darn good.

Yahoo is never intended to be used to nail the numbers, but rather to show how a film is performing in general, just like crowd reports, and it has shown regularly to be as good as crowd reports. What was more amazing before clogging started is that the early pace can be used to project the whole day's performance with good accuracy, before the first report is in. If you treat it to calculate to two decimals, you are misunderstanding its purpose.

Did Yahoo average for Gigli just drop to F recently? I thought it had been D-.

Ratios with actuals:
The Grudge 2 - 79.26
Man of the Year - 93.23
The Marine - 249.69
One Night with the King - 138.14
The Grudge 2 posted the second-lowest horror ratio ever recorded, trailing only TCM: TB.

I wish someone would explain the ratios cause I still don't get it... is there some formula used to come up with those numbers based on the number of reviews on Yahoo? Is there a chart that lists these ratios by genre or in some form that comparisons can be easily made?

A full, detailed explanation of how ratios work is on Page 1 of this thread. Basically, a ratio just means how many reviews translate to every $1M of a Friday box-office take. Zingaling just recently separated the historial charts by genre, etc., and you can find these on the box office bash archive (a sticky in this forum). You'll notice the ratios this year have been trending lower than years past - likely due to Yahoo's introduction of a new home page.

It's been that way for a few weeks. Either more negative reviews lowered, or more likely Yahoo adjusted the grading system again. Over the past 3 years they have been periodically shifting all the grades lower again and again.

Flags of our Fathers 53, A-
The Prestige 12, B+
Marie Antionette 2, D
Flicka 42, A
Based on the dates of the written reviews Flicka's are mostly fake from before today. I'm guessing many of FOOF's are as well.

Did anyone notice how many reviews each had before we started? I really need to start paying more attention to that.
As for ratios, I'm going with 95 for The Prestige, 110 for Flags of Our Fathers, 75 for Flicka (could bump higher), and 140 for Marie Antoinette.

 3-Hour Update
Flags of our Fathers 74, +15, A-
The Prestige 29,+13, B+
Marie Antionette 21, +16, C+
Flicka 47, +4, A-
Flicka's actual total is probably 20-30 lower since 6 of its written reviews are from August.
