He's a contender (I'm very close to predicting him), but almost certain? He's not that beloved by the academy, and I think Jack will suck up most of his energy come awards season.

I don't think Gosling will get in unless the race weakens by quite a bit.
He was great, yes but giving him a nod here I think would be acknowledgin his impressive work thus far and not just solely for Half Nelson.
