First rumors for the weekend and Saturday are in:
http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/p ... ing-title/
Her sources are saying ~43M Saturday (just missing 100M in 2 days) and 133M for the weekend. I note she rounds down based on the other posts and have no idea how accurate her Disney sources are.
I would rather not be the one to start what could become the Saturday/weekend thread as I am horrible with charts and with the World Cup Final may not be paying attention at the appropriate time, so I am posting this info here and in the yahoo thread.

Hmm, I just realized that a steeper Sunday drop probably will happen than I thought (around 15%). I think the World cup will have some type of effect.

If you are basing that thought on my comment above, don't. I'm about the only one I know who is interested around here. It could have an impact internationally but nice weather would have more of an impact in the US. The WC is just not big a deal here.

Heh, go to sports sub-forum.

I actually didn't even see your comment when I posted.

O - no problem, wasn't sure if you were reacting to it or not.
Nebs - I agree there is some interest, but my two points are simply - the majority of the interest is in other countries (I believe a lot of the posters in that thread are internationally based). Second - its is undisputably a second or third tier sport in this country. Much as I enjoy watching, I can't see it having any greater impact on the BO than the Tour de France when Lance was going for a record sizth. Which is to say none.
Please don't take this as harsh, I don't mean to be, I just think it is possible to vastly over rate its impact on things here.

I wasn't that far off... (if those first estimates hold)

Ah, no problem...just 'answering' about your comment being about the only one interested in WC here, on forums. Guess you've meant the country, and I misunderstood.
I have no illusions that it will have an impact on box office.

What will be interesting to see is what impact is has on the international box office. France and Italy might set some all time Sunday lows (if they haven't already from the last time they were respectively in the finals...)
