Guess you didn't notice the "at best" part. It would most likely be around $48-50m for the weekend with a $16.5m opening day, which is pretty pathetic considering that it could fall below Batman Begins' weekend, despite a $6m higher opening.

At the time of his post scott said it was doing 15% better than wed(not including previews) if it stays that way then that would be a 20.7mill friday since it made 18mill on wed.Good considering wed numbers but not anywhere near what i predicted(30mill) so its dissapointing to me.

20m seems to be the high end at this point.

Its not dissapointing - its right where it was realistically expected to be. This is not Spiderman. Not X-Men. Its got a 7 day opening really so its gross will be spread over that period. Any total domestic gross of $175m+ is expected and decent.

If thats true if its weekend falls below Batman Begins then what we have said earlier last year is very very true and cannot be argued.
"Batman movies have always outgrossed each Superman movies substantially even by adjusted gross. If the last Batman movie struggled to make so and so amount, why should a similiar franchise of its kind that shown less power make much much more"

Hence why the under $200m club was a strong one!!

Well listen, SR had many more things imo going for it then BB. It had the potential to hit a larger range of people then BB, especially kids and the marketing was better, it had tie-ins to various things, but at the end of the day SR just isnt incredibly appealing to people and this is somewhat the same damn thing as a restart to most casual moviegoers, it's gonna have to build an audience again, just like what BB did.

$9-10m for The Devil Wears Prada and around $17m for Superman Returns (130 ratio is kind enough).

Mmmhmmm
A ratio of 80 would give Devil 9.3m
A ratio of 130 would give Supes 16.9m
It's really hard to say with Supes, given the crowd reports we have. Might've not done so well in other parts of the country today. Ratio of 120 would seem really low.

I'd guess 16m for SR.
8.5m IMO for Prada.

I'm going with 9.5-10m for Prada and $16m for Superman.
