I'm torn. Based on the reviews, I don't think SR would make $200M on merit alone. But there is a possibility that WB bought their way higher than $200 on the sheer volume of marketing. Even so, I don't believe that, for all its marketing, SR is going to have the WOM. (The Kid! Ugh!)
I'll stay in and project a <$200M, but it's gonna be close. I won't eat crow unless SR passes $230M.

The super son is a cool idea, but couldn't they have done more with it? Can't he get them out of the storage room now? And Lois shouldn't even know that it is Superman's son, as her MEMORY WAS ERASED AT THE END OF THE SECOND ONE!!!!

Is that for real? Does he have psychic abilities?
Also, can we see him beating the snot out of someone? Is that too much to ask?

I don't know, I always make the joke about Superman being boring because "Hey, what's your super power?" "Oh... just about everything." It wouldnt surprise me that he discovered psychic abilities during some point in his career.

And what signs are you basing this one? I'll stick with this club, but thanks for offering. Very kind of you.

Last chance to join! Sellouts so far are pretty low, so things are looking as bright as ever.
I'm in this until the end. A buddy of mine went last night and said the film was boring as hell. That MAY bode well for word of mouth damage. In any case, I'll eat crow if I'm wrong.

It looks as though its opening could be huge enough to make over 105 for its 5 day take but Ive been reading alot of the reaction at BOM and imdb and while people thought it was good, they said it was a disappointmen to them. I dont think it will have good WOM probably worse than WOTW combined with it being a comic book genre and POTC2 next week. I think next week's drop could even rival X-3

I think that kind of drop should be expected considering the whole first week is considered a holiday week. Next week should definitly drop hard. Stabilization after is the question.

Okay, so there was clapping at the end. There was clapping at the end of Serenity as well. And that is only because of the fanboys who see the film have to let everyone know they dug it. Clapping by several individuals doesn't mean that the rest of dug it.

I swear to Christ - I remember a Friday night audience clapping for Bad Boys II. I felt like I entered the twilight zone.

Because you thought there was no way Bad Boys II would be so much better than the first, right?

Also in it till the death. I've heard very mixed/partially negative WOM so far.
And of course I have no interest in seeing it.

I just don't see any possible way for this film to gross under $200m. Even Fantastic Four managed over $150m and its not nearly as popular, recognizable, or hyped as Superman Returns.
Whether it goes even further than $200-225m will remain to be seen.
