Both movies were. They both handeled their tones very similarly to the first and second Superman films. Both Superman films balanced the romance and action pretty nicely and so did the first two Spider-Man's. The same thing is said to be true if James Berardinelli's review for the new film means anything.

Well considering X3 has been out 5 weeks now and has made 224 Million with a big drop in it's 2nd weekend, what makes you think SR will make nearly what X3 has made in shorter time without being frontloaded as well???

Why would you want to keep a list of all the people who were more rational than you?

I am not THAT convinced anymore, but I will stay in for the heck of it. I still don't see it passing either Cars or X3.
I'd expect $190-210 million right now.

I'll stay in for the sake of posterity, though I'm doubting it more and more every day...

I think it will make more then the 163 I predicdted, but not more than 200. I'm staying. This film is way too long, it is not going to illicit repeat business and it is rather boring in some parts. I see a big opening, and then a rapid decline. Pirates will use it to shine its shoes.
