Great so far. Looks like an $9 million opening day, though I wouldn't be surprised if it crossed $10 million.

I would certainly...assume...so, unless it drops like 80% or something.

I think X3 is safe. I don't see that making less than $35 million this weekend and I don't see The Break-Up making much more over $30 million. It'll be a little frontloaded.

The Break-Up 409, +46, C+
Looking pretty good indeed. I could see the ratio reach above 100 if the grade stays where it is and given the new Yahoo page, but the pace has been consistently good.

This year we have the clogging, plus WC was rated R.

And a big drop next week for BU also to continue the trend of movie being frontloaded this entire year. With its low yahoo grade, I wont be surprised if it drops bigger than the usual romance comedy genre

I always felt legs for this one. I think it can drop under 40%; we'll see.

I agree. Aniston and Vaughn have excellent fanbases - especially the former, who is still greatly missed from her "Friends" days.

Star-driven romantic comedies in the summer have actually generally had larger-than-expected declines recently. Must Love Dogs dropped around 45% last year despite only one new movie the next weekend. A 50% decline for Break Up would not be shocking.

I think the WOM will be average, thanks to the ads misleading it as a laugh-a-minute picture. So yeah, a big drop wouldn't surprise me either.

So whats it heading towards? Still around $9-$10m? Thats a about a $26-$30m weekend. Though I dont think it will hold up well enough considering its grade - so $100m looks unlikely - but again its summer.

It will not have good legs. Audiences at my theater are hating it.

Aniston just is having horrible luck when it comes down to movies that she's headlining in. Polly and Bruce were more driven by Stiller and Carrey, so one has to wonder why she isn't getting better roles...

Horrible luck...how?
Do you mean...critically? Because Friends With Money was pretty well-reviewed.
And The Break Up looks like it will be successful financially...
