So I went into this with low expectations since I thought X-2 was a C+. However, this one blew me away with its exciting action, suprisingly storyline developments, and general awesomeness. None of the tedium that was ever so present in the last movie. This is what a summer blockbuster movie should be. I am so glad Ratner took over and made changes to the comic. It gets an A from me.

Exactly the same reaction as me -- X2 drools/ X3 rules -- though there seems to be a few people who preferred X2 - I wonder what the ratio is?

This was entertaining popcorn fare. No substance, alot of things that didnt make sense, or just felt patched together to make something works. It only works in a 2 hour popcorn action flick.

Problems I had with the movie:

1)Point of angel? Didnt really do much other than save his father.

2)The way they killed of cyclops. Very very cheap. Mystique and magneto's loss of powers also very cheap.

3)Hate the new xmen lineup. kitty pryde, coloussus, iceman, wolverine, storm?

4)Should have just kept nightcrawler around, his character was already sort of explained in the 2nd movie.

I finally saw it today.

One thing that bothers me is during fights, Wolverine either kills or maims. I, as a villain, or evil henchmen, would much rather run into Iceman or Storm.

Storm murders Callisto. So really, you're safe with Iceman.

I was thinking more 3rd tier random baddie.

Storm will blow you over, Iceman, pelt you with snow, and Logan will slice off your face.

"Storm murders Callisto."

Isn't that a little harsh? She kills her, yeah, but Callisto was gunning for Storm and she lost. Storm didn't scour the countryside for Callisto just to watch her die or anything.

And no Cyclops to tell him to not kill people.

I'd run straight to the Kitty section... sure she'll go through me and drop kick me, but she's only marginally stronger than the average human and not built like a rock.

Actually if I was a mutant, I wouldn't have even been there...

1) I hate rallys
2) I hate camping, goddamn it no toilet paper
3) There are no hot chicks there... I mean Archlight looked like a man.

I've already thought of the perfect X4 plot.

Gambit shows up at the X-mansion trying to steal something, X-men capture him, Rogue takes pity on him, he tells her he's there to steal Magneto's machine from the first film (the one that turns humans into mutants) for Magneto. Rogue helps Gambit escape... they go to find Mystique who wants to change form back, but need Moira (who's a genetisist), Beast and Erikk to fix it so they don't turn into jelly. Then they need to find someone with some power to power it up. Gambit I think has perpetual energy right?

Meanwhile Emma Frost shows up trying to take over the school from Storm and causes some trouble. Maybe some weird version of Hellions are the bad guys... maybe more realistic sentinals. Maybe that religious group (Church of Humanity???) can go after them instead of the government.

Meanwhile Jean's last encounter with Logan has unlocked his memories.

There's a good story there!

Sigourney Weaver was being considered for the role of Emma Frost back when X3 was a good idea. I would have loved a Hellfire Club storyline.

Archlight was truly a crying game moment.

Juggarnaunt defeated by a wall. :nonono:

Im so confused over Last Stand.

That made me a bit confused as well since i thought that the Juggernaut was not a mutant.. so the kid wouldn't have worked...

Someone else mentioned it but brining magic into the realm of Xmen would have been too much. But I would have liked for producers and writers not to use Juggarnaunt at all vs what they turned him into.

While I liked Ellen Page, Kitty not exactly the source of offensive might.

Im going to geek out but according to class strength, Coloussus and Juggernaut are almost evenly matched (Coloussus at 70 tons and Juggarnaunt at 100+ tons).

http://www.marveldatabase.com/wiki/inde ... e#100_Tons

So yeah, Juggernaunt could have carried the Golden Gate bridge for Magneto.

yup.

Magneto is only 100 ton class strength as well, so I'm assuming the bridge only weighed that much.

Magneto is almost unlimited, though. His power is not a physical one, does not rely on his own body. Unlike Juggernaut's...

Strength Level: Magneto possesses the normal human strength of a man his age (i.e., rejuvenated age), height, and build who engages in intensive regular exercise. However, using his magnetic abilities, he can imbue himself with superhuman strength to the extent that he is capable of lifting well in excess of 100 tons.

that link makes me like X3 even less.

If there's one thing I really wish the producers had pushed to be included in the course of X2 and X3, is the evolution of Rogue. Rogue goes, well rogue, teams with the Brotherhood, puts Ms Marvel in a coma, and gains the permanent power of flight, near invulnerability, and between 50-70 ton class strength.

That's because your letting your comicbook geekness take over you causing you to question every little plot hole or Law of Physics in the film instead of accepting the flaws and seeing it for what it was: A Very good movie with a dumb title.. What was your grade on this by the way???
