Wait, Psylocke was in the movie?! The chick with the blue/purpley and black hair that passed through a wall to corner Warren II and Rao (Shohreh!!!!)... I first thought, hmm, probably only a nod to Psylocke's looks since the psi-blade is more of her trademark rather than her appearance and she wasn't mentioned by name. The end credits though listed her as Psylocke. And they killed her, didnt they? I didnt even know that was her, so I dont care. Ill just pretend she was never in the movies. Hehe. Yup they did.
I remember that Psylocke was incredibly hot in the very odd X-men swimsuit comic they drew for some reason... My friend bought it. (YES, THAT IS THE TRUTH! Friend does NOT = me)

I saw this a second time , (didn't pay for it), and enjoyed it much more. I give this a C/C+ now.
I thought Magneto walking away from Mystique was one of the best scenes in the whole franchise.

Hmm... I like the look of disgust in his face upon seeing the "ugly" Raven Darkholme.

Eh.... I didn't like that scene much. It seemed kind of fake to me.

I walked into this film with great trepidation and apprehension. I set myself up for a big disappointment. And, to an extent, I was right. This is a far cry from the first two, both masterpieces in their own right. X1 is one of the best pure fun films of recent memory, and a fantastic starting point for the franchise. X2 is just brilliant. X3, on the other hand, is a step down from both. It has neither the fun of the first nor the drama of the second. The screenplay is quite lazy and poorly written here. That being said, this is still a good flick.
The movie did have its moments. The action scene at the end was quite good, as was the scene in Jean Grey's house. Wolverine remains the best character of the films, but he is rivaled here by Magneto. Jackman and McKellan are by far the best. The effects were perfect, but I would have preferred some more "background mutants" like the second one had. The new mutants were interesting, but underused. The general story about the cure was intriguing but, again, underused. I didn't really mind the random killing of some beloved characters, but Cyclops and Mystique should have been given a proper send-off. And Xavier's death was too... disturbing. I did like the way they did away with Magneto, though, as well as the last scene which leaves room for a sequel. And the scene after the credits was pretty cool.
The real problem with this film is the script. Ratner's direction is fine - he certainly knows how to film action - but Singer brought his writers with him to Superman, and their replacements aren't that good (who are they anyway - IMDb doesn't have them listed). Many sub-plots are introduced but not resolved. Many characters are underused (Colussus and Angel especially). Some of the dialogue borders on after-school special cheese. Some scenes are perfect examples of lazy writing. And the plot attempts to bring about some moral and ethical depth but ultimately falls short. This is a film which would have greatly benefitted by being 20-30 minutes longer and broadening the story. Greatly disappointing.
All in all, this is a worthy addition (conclusion?) to the X-Men series, albeit a step down. I doubt it really is "the last stand" as the scenes bookending the credits seem to suggest otherwise. I am sure that with Singer at the helm, and more competent writers, this would have been just as excellent as the first two.

I went to the 11:50 PM showing of X3 last night with the auditorium about 80% Full and for a 2nd viewing, this movie really is FANTASTIC and deserves to make the $$$ it is.. I just don't see anything remotely wrong with this movie and is damn near perfect..

But X2 to me was more than a classic summer blockbuster, which is why I feel dissapointed that the X-men franchise went from something unique to something unoriginal. Yeah, it had that bit of drama mixed with the great action. You had those one-liners and a good mix of comedy. But...it didn't have that thing that made it special. Maybe the spinoffs will bring back that special feeling.
And what was that exactly? What made it "special"?

It is an amazing opening and really gets you out of your seats. But more important, the film had a message to it. The line, "have you ever...tried not being a mutant?" is CLASSIC and a very powerful line. There was no line like that in the film, not with that kind of power. X2 to me was a blockbuster that had a message, X3 was a blockbuster that tried to have a message but failed.
The Nightcrawler scene was good until the slow-motion which is a little too melodramatic and Matrixy for my liking.

It is a great scene.
Overall I liked the film, though I am entirely sure why Ben Foster was even in the film. His opening scenen mad eme think he'd show up at the school earlier, do something at the final battle, you know be in the movie.

*Supposedly* Angel and Colossus had a bunch of scenes (battle or just narrative) deleted. Angel had really great potential, specially how they built him up from X2 (the x-ray of his wings) and the flashback scene in the beginning of this film.
Wouldn't hurt if this movie was the same length as X2, but eh they wanted to shorten it I guess for maximum flow.

X3 is easily the best of the series thus far. I thought the action was well ahead of both X2 and X1. I loved the foreshadowing of "the not so distant future" with the X-Men fighting the Sentinel. I can't wait for X4 as Gambit (my favorite X-Men hands down) should be in it to lure Rogue back in and fight the Sentinels.
Was there a scene after the credtits?? If so, could someone explain what was in it?

A- That female doctor acquaintance of Professor X's is in some kind of hospital with a person in a bed, and you hear the person in the bed say something, and then the doctor starts to tear up and says "Charles?" It's a rather...huge...scene regarding future films if they make any more, I'm not sure why it was after the credits.

Someone asked about the screenwriters. They are:
Zak Penn (X2, Elektra, Suspect Zero, Behind Enemy Lines, Last Action Hero)
Simon Kinberg (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, xXx: State of the Union)

Wow. Thanks for the info guys. I might have to see it again now. So when are the Storm and Wolverine movies coming out? I'll assume that they will make X4 after those two movies are made.

Well here my opinion from high school
Only one thought it sucked or was terribile.
50% loved it and found it amazing, 30% found it good, 20% found it okay.
WOM is quite postive with regular fans and regular moviegoers. People loved the scene when the Bridge is picked up.
If they market well they could get 2nd time viewers and other moviegoers.
