4-day OW: 110
Total: 220

Memorial Day Wknd + 3rd and final chapter = major frontloadedness. WOM probably won't even be as good as X2.

You're probably right. I just don't see a huge increase over the second one.

With OTH and TDVC out I don't think it will get quite that many theaters.

I think a TC over 4000 is locked. I'll wait until next weekends TC are released, to see how RV, MI3, Poseidon, Hoot, and Just My Luck drop.

I agree, but those last 350 can be tough to get.

I don't think it's THAT much of a stretch. This is Fox's movie of the summer. And aside from the Omen, the only movie that will gross over $50 million (unless I missed something). I don't think they have any worries about pumping everything they can into both marketing this and getting this as many theaters as possible.

I absolutely loved X2 and Im not a Ratner basher - I enjoyed the Rush Hour films, Money Talks and Red Dragon which IMO is much better than Hannibal. However, X3 just doesnt look right to me. Im a little concerned by the early reviews aswell, regardless I will go see it opening weekend.

And thats how I think audiences will relate. Opening weekend will be huge regardless of the quality - $115m opening 4 day and a $240-$250m total.

Me neither. Early reviews are suggesting a mediocre movie, which is pretty unfortunate because the first two were good comic book adaptations and i like watching them...

I just mean that once you get to the 4,000 level a slight TC increase takes a lot.

hes been saying that for every movie that attaches a trailer for Superman but what about all the other movies that always has a trailer attached to a certain movie. He acts like this whole procedure is rare for a movie

Yup higher opening. Unless it has something to do with people not wanting to see the movie because of Ratner I cant see it only doing 5 million higher than the previous one especially on MMD weekend. I expect +/- 100 million for the 3 day

Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...

In those two minutes, I repeated the mantra that Harry had whispered to himself before the first X-MEN film six years ago.
”Please don’t suck. Please don’t suck. Please don’t suck.”
And this morning, in that darkened theater, the movie gods answered my prayers. Because X-MEN: THE LAST STAND (since no 3 appears anywhere in the title on the actual film) is not only a worthy addition to the franchise, it actually feels like it is simply part of one big movie, absolutely on par with the first two films.
Yes, it’s true. Brett Ratner has stuck the landing.

The commercials are just non-stop. I haven't seen this much marketing since Revenge of the Sith or Fantastic Four. I'll stick with my predictions, and I see it breaking down like this...

Friday: $30.8 million
Saturday: $31.4 million (+4%)
Sunday: $28.2 million (-10%)
Monday: $22.3 million (-21%)

3-Day: $90.4 million ($22,600 PTA in 4,000 theaters)
4-Day: $112.7 million
Domestic Total: $242.3 million

That Saturday increase is supposed to be 2%. It's the exact daily pattern as The Day After Tomorrow.
