Locke: I've been one with hitting that. It's a beautiful thing.
Mr. Eko: Do not confuse hitting that with fate.

To continue the Oasis comparisons, I'm pretty sure Charlie's new song in the flashback had "stay young" in the lyrics multiple times.

Don't listen to him, although there's what (?) 4 characters left to cover?
I actually found it worth my while to read it.

Michael and Walt
My memory fails me but at the moment, Michael is MIA right? So that makes father and son both MIA. I think michael and Walt's impact on the story now will depend on what course of action the writers decide to go with? If in the short run, we're to see the others gaining more ground on our Lost cast, then i would think that its because Walt now carries the desease and Michael is protecting his son. Otherwise, michael and walt will be rescued by out Lost cast.
In any case, Michael is the only one in the entire group thats remained a 'normal' person so far. the average joe who takes average joe decisions and has average joe reactions. same with walt.
Libby
Libby has a dirty secret. we know that. what impact can it possibly have? i have a far fetched idea for it (whcih would kik ass) or something more reasonable.
Libby, as we already know, is probably not 'an other'. her secret is probably something that makes an impact during 'her flashback' episode only that is, it will probably be a filler. so nothing huge as far as the course of events go.
on the other hand, and this is far fetched but she could be somehow involved in this whole dharma thing and thats how Hurley remembers her. Remember, Hurley is the only one who had some weird connection to the island before they crashed, that being that crazy number. In his travels to find out its meaning, who knows if he ran into her. Libby obviously remembers hurley from someplace because as soon as he mentions seeing her someplace, her reaction changes and she cooks up a story really quick. So lets see what happens.
Ana Lucia
i can tell they're trying to tone her down. was it the bad reaction to her or the fact that she got into trouble i dont know but i think that the plans that they had for her must be changing. she seems to be in a position where she wants to gain acceptance which has also given the producers a good excuse to make her go through a character transformation. Her relationship with Jack will grow as hes the only sympathizer. her purpose ofcourse, will be to train the camp soon, a decision that i find stupid considering Sayid is around to do a better job of that.
outside of the characters though, lets look at the island now:
There is a weird black fog roaming around. We've seen it once now. Eko has seen it, faced it and lived to tell the tale. Locke has definetely encountered this or another monster. Both Eko and Locke have the same perceptions about the island in some way so that would make sense.
There is a crazy monster that hasn't shown up in a long time. It seemed to chase Locke during the first few episodes and if it was this monster and locke has indeed encountered the fog, i would think i'm wrong and that this crazy monster and the fog are the same. Since teh opening of the hatch, no sign of this has been seen.
A crazy machine that pulls you into the ground. i think this is something compeltely different from the monster. once again, it has disappeared.
For some reason, the polar bears have decided to hibernate. instead of doing so in the winter, these polar bears have adapted to sleep only when other people on the island have other things to do.
The others now have a face. they speak great english and all seem to be from the Western world. there are quite a few, they steal children and others.
There is dharma which is some weird experiment. the jury is still out on if the experiment was abandoned or if the people from the lost crew have now become a part of the expt. all we know is that a washing machine seems to be newer than the rest of the stuff.
did i miss anything?

Good run down, but yeah there's a few other things.
- the electrical cable leading into the ocean that Sayid found in the episode in season 1 where he went off on his own and ran across the french woman. Major find, but ignored by the writers.
- the fact that it used to rain pretty often and at odd times and doesn't seem to now.
- The stewardess went missing and no one cares much.
- Desmond disappeared. Is he with the others? Living on his own? He ran off as if he had somewhere to go.
- There's that ship the Black Rock that they haven't explored, it might hold useful items or information.

So, Kate and Charlie are engaged.
Wow. I didn't even know they were dating, or anything close to it.

What happened Lost, you used to be cool. Yeah well it morphed into a soap opera unfortunately. Sure sign of it not being as cool as we'd like: http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_ma ... 7C,00.htmlMaybe they need to start being a little more offensive.
You don't have to be offensive to be cool. I find it inspiring that someone can make a brilliant show that doesn't contain constant language, violence, or sexuality.

I thought Hearts + Minds was an above average episode. Charlie's flashbacks were tolerable (I actually liked his Moth's flashbacks - especially the last scene). The diaper scene was pretty funny. I laughed.
Locke punching Charlie over and over was a bit too much in my opinion. Didn't seem Locke-esque. Sure he deserved it, but since when is Locke the bodyguard?
Hurley and Libby seem cute, but unlikely in real life like everyone else said.
Eko was awesome as always.

Meh, it wasn't one of the best episodes, but it wasn't that bad either. Charlie's flashbacks are all kind've boring and they're all basicly the exact same thing.

The first one should be coming up soon if the sources are right. Ana Lucia supposedly follows it into the ocean (and hopefully drowns).
[spoil]I guess it leads to an underwater hatch.[/spoil]
The 2nd should end next week. Looks like a massive rain storm.

But that didn't stop him from dropping anvil-icious hints about his fond feelings for the "beautiful" and "cute" (as he's described her in recent months) brunette actress, 26, whose marriage to a fellow Canadian reportedly ended shortly after she joined the cast of "Lost."
of course > get hot show > drop boy-friend > hook up with cast member.

No word on whether or not they were impressed by what the industry threw at them this week, namely a big ol' pile of money. The Hollywood Reporter says the original members of the "Lost" cast have been offered a hefty raise from the show's producer, Touchstone Television.
In exchange for inking a deal for another year, the ensemble, including Monaghan, Lilly, Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway, Naveen Andrews, Terry O'Quinn, Jorge Garcia, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim and Harold Perrineau, will pocket close to $80,000 per episode next season, up from the $20,000-$40,000 they're currently getting.
wow, are Kims married or just the same name???
and I wonder how much Sun is getting per word with 80 K a episode???
