But apparently this theatre doesn't get the gem of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Which is released in 57 more theatres this weekend, but apparently still none of them close to you, eh?

My favorite musical bio movie is still The Doors because the combination of Val Kilmer and Oliver Stone is just way too fucked up to happen these days.

They'll probably get it eventually. I haven't checked yet if it's close to me for fear of disappointment.

Andaroo, I urge you to see Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as well. It must be showing somewhere in Seattle.

So far, Coal Miner's Daughter has been my favorite. I'm hoping that changes to Walk the Line.

Yeah it's close by. Maybe on Sunday, if not then I don't know when. Potter is Fri, Line is Sat.

And that from a guy who supposedly hates country music.

Don't need to know what it's about, just see it. You will like it. At the very least you will enjoy Val Kilmer's performance. And you will laugh. A lot.

I hate most of it, and only because of having it forced on me and the hick lyrics. I still play and sing it sometimes, though, and it's a great film. I will always have nostalgia for Lorreta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, and Merle Haggard songs. I grew up to all that stuff.

Waylon Jennings is actually my favorite country artist ever. It'll be interesting seeing his son Shooter playing him in this movie.

Lecter, if you lived in the US and saw on a daily basis what passes for country music, you would hate it too. Or be my enemy.

WTL on RT is currently at: 77%
The chance for the Oscar-win seems a bit less likely now, as its getting the same response roughly as Ray.

I never thought it had a big chance at a win in first place.

I don't pay much attention to RT scores for mass movies.
But 77% can't be good for an oscar hopeful.
I think MDB was in the 90% range. What were The Aviator and the other BP nominees at?

Again, there are only 28 reviews. I seem to recall Ray hovering around 50-60% before its opening day and then it went up all the way to 81%.

The Aviator was at 85% during its run and has since risen to 89%. I'm not sure about the others.

Last Year's Best Picture Nominees
Sideways: 96%
Million Dollar Baby: 91%
The Aviator: 89%
Finding Neverland: 84%
Ray: 81%
Remember, though. A Beautiful Mind, which won Best Picture for 2001, had an RT score of 79%.

Joe and Zing, Thanks for the info.
A Beautiful Mind won BP with 79%. Maybe the Gladiator win helped it some?
As Libs mentioned, WTL is only at 28 reviews. So it could still increase.
I think it needs to be in the mid 80's or higher in the end.

If I remember correctly, Gladiator had a score of under 80% as well at RT.

Wow. Chocolat had only a 61% rating and thanks to the Weinstein brothers' marketing machine, it got nominated.
