A lot of it really offended me, so I turned it off after about 25 minutes. It just relied on stupid inappropiate humor. Woah, wha? What offended you? Y'know it's lampooning what people thought of women back then, not endorsing it right? Most of the jokes were sexual and not needed. The only slightly amusing thing in the movie was Steve Carrell, but even that was stupid. Other than VeggieTales, is there anything that doesn't offend you? Oh, and I hope my question has not offended you.

I thought it didn't do Thompson's book justice, but it was an aw'ight attempt by Gilliam and co.

The Remains of the Day: A-
I don't believe I've even seen any other Ivory films, but I'm guessing this is vintage Merchant Ivory. It's actually really good, though, and Anthony Hopkins is pretty amazing here. (I never realized what a stretch it was for him to go straight from The Silence of the Lambs to doing stuff like this.) I'm interested in Howards End now, which I have yet to see.
Clockwatchers: B
Nice, quirky little film from 1997 starring Lisa Kudrow, Parker Posey, and Toni Collette. Somewhat of a more dramatic, female counterpart to Office Space. Never especially brilliant, but fun and overlooked.

Was there really a big enough difference to change the grade?

How many minutes were added to The Grudge: Unrated Version? I'm thinking I might check it out, even though I seriously disliked the theatrical version.

The final sequence works a bit better when you get a more detailed version of the mother and son's death scenes.

Wedding Crashers -- A-
Freakin' hilarious. Vince Vaughn's best performance yet. Not as funny as Old School or Anchorman, but damn close.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory -- B-
Decent flick. Depp was funny and pretty good, though not as convincing as Wilder was. And, it doesn't quite meet up to the original overall.

House Of Wax... C+
I was expecting to give this a D- or so mething similar to The Ring 2 and was stunned t o find that this was really quite enjoyable. Sure it was cliched in parts but the death scenes were really gruesome and quite shocking in parts which made a change, and I didn't mind the long running time at all because there were enough characters and interesting situations to keep things running smoothly. On the whole it reminded me of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake which I also thought was better than much that we've seen in the genre recently.
If you haven't given it a chance because of the critics or IMDB, do yourself a favour and rent it when its out on DVD. It's a fuckload b etter than most of the horror/thriller films this year (though I haven't seen High Tension).

Crap. Apart from the laughable "Cup-cake/Man's Big Balls" scene. Otherwise its as pathetic as Michael Caine's American accent.

Wolf - B+
A nice surprise. While it doesn't always work combining romance, comedy, drama, and horror it's a fun film. Sometimes it's a little corny, like when Jack hasn't fully transformed yet and kills a deer. At times it almost seems like two different movies, but Nicholson and Pfeiffer make it work. James Spader also is great as his usual smarmy self. It was a very good rental.

But once the car chase ends, the movie's reshoots rear their obvious head and it descends into a quagmire of lame action and lamer plot twists. This movie is a perfect example of how a sub-par ending (or, in this case, sub-sub-par) can make a good film bad. A Shame. They didn't even bother tying up the loose ends! Sloppy.
What loose ends?

The Incredibles- A
One of my favorite Pixar films. It's so awesome. I think the visuals are amazing, and the voice work done by the actors is solid. Also, the story is executed very well, and I thought it balanced out things with the action and comedy brilliantly.

Yes, great movie with great performances. Where is Michelle Pfeiffer? It's such a waste that she's not doing any movies!!
I just finished Unfaithful. If only the whole movie had as been as gripping as the first half, it would have been brilliant. It falls apart when Gere goes to Paul's apartment. As long as the movie is dealing with adultery and it's consequences it's compelling, but when the focus shifts from Lane to Gere it falls apart. Diane Lane's performance was incredible, worthy of the nomination she received. Has she ever looked better or sexier than she does now? Wow!
My grade: C+.

Yeah, that's what bothered me about Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It was a lot of fun, I even enjoyed the shoot out, but the fact that they just end it like we'll forget about the entire plot of the movie beforehand was outright insulting.
