If Sith gross less than AOTC.........Now that would be really surprising. Perhaps in US market but no way Worldwide.

Wow, VERY nice chart. I just wish they could be spaced out a bit so the titles could fit on 1 or 2 lines.
Might I add, my predictions are pretty conservtive in my opinion.
I think Sith can EASILY break $40m on Opening Day especially if Matrix did $38m if only with inflation.
Being PG-13 and with undoubtedly a larger fanbase, it could climb up to $43-44 million.
I must note though that at the time MAtrix hype was actually a bit bigger. Some people might be i denial, but from what I remember, everyone was MAtrix CRAZY.... because it spread through more people than Star Wars does.
By the way, my Domestic Total prediction (guess I didn't post it) is looking to be around $360-400 million, so I dunno, put me down for $385m.
As reviews are pouring in (unanimously positive) I think people are way underestimating the return business for this Star Wars movie. Episode I didn't have much cept the pod racers. Episode II had that battle at the end though it was mainly Yoda that was the impresive and second viewing scene.
From what the reviews are saying, it looks like Sith is going to be not only GOOD, but non-stop action.
I mean it's gonna give fans what they have finally been waiting for. I'm hearing 6 or 7 lightsaber fights. I'm not a Star Wars fan at all but even I can see that million are gonna go gaga over this one and bring in ALOT of repeat business.
If it really maxes out just near $300m or a little past it, then I'd be surprised and officialy admit the movie theatre recession that has everybody in the industry talking.

It's not gonna happen.. SITH is the real deal this time out and 93% FRESH on the RT Meter doesn't lie.. Every major critic is highly praising this movie except for the nerds at CHUD.. Someone's right and someone's wrong and I think CHUD got it wrong.. Out of 28 reviews so far, not 1 of the reviews even reflects the sentiments of CHUD's review of the film and it's polar opposite.. In short: SITH is the movie of the Year coming up..

don't get your hopes up too high (too late) cause it still could do less then $300. even if it gets 99% rating at RT.

I don't know.. I haven't given it much thought, but I'm pretty sure it's not impiossible for this movie to pull that off as much as fast and high as it's been selling according to Fandango..

Yeah, it wont. Probably be around 170m, which would be 30m more then TPM & AOTC did in 8days

Thanks, will add it in next update.
Though, don't you think it's a bit too small 3-day weekend? Just $67m after $41m opening day...typo?

I wish we had an official theater count for it. But I am going to add my predictions again next week when we do get a final theater count......

I'm starting to feel excited now :razz: , about time too, the marketing for Episode III has been pretty dodge up until now.....what you got originally was a bunch of ads in the paper asking lame questions like, "How will the Clone Wars End", "How does Anakin turn into Darth Vadar" or something along those lines......makes you cringe
Anyhow, we're finally getting decent stuff with Star Wars posters (in full color) everywhere in the city and train station (like last years The Day After Tomorrow).....interviews and news reports galore.....
Isn't it wonderful that finally one of the prequels is getting excellent raves everywhere :razz:, cause for celebration.
Though one thing, i'm just not feeling the "tragic", emotion or scope of this movie as of yet.......while i really don't want to compare this to ROTK all the time.......i'm not getting the feeling that there is much at stake......we all know the Republic will disentegrate but all the promotion so far has been to glorify Vadar's return (predictable)......oh well, different movie :razz:
I've seen websites predicting $500m+ for this, which doesn't seem so ridiculous anymore because if Shrek 2 can eat up $440m against TDAT and HP3.....surely the final part of the biggest franchise of all-time will do well, now that it has the reviews to back up the spectacle. The market has been prepping for III's arrival for 2 months (LOL)....and Madagascar is no TDAT + HP3.....
Prediction:
Thursday = $41m
Friday = $32m
Saturday = $42m
Sunday = $32m
Weekend (3-Day) = $106m
Weekend (4-Day) = $147m
Domestic - $460m
Overseas - $500m
Worldwide - $960m
:razz:

Though one thing, i'm just not feeling the "tragic", emotion or scope of this movie as of yet.......while i really don't want to compare this to ROTK all the time.......i'm not getting the feeling that there is much at stake......we all know the Republic will disentegrate but all the promotion so far has been to glorify Vadar's return (predictable)......oh well, different movie :razz: I've seen websites predicting $500m+ for this, which doesn't seem so ridiculous anymore because if Shrek 2 can eat up $440m against TDAT and HP3.....surely the final part of the biggest franchise of all-time will do well, now that it has the reviews to back up the spectacle. The market has been prepping for III's arrival for 2 months (LOL)....and Madagascar is no TDAT + HP3..... Prediction:Thursday = $41m Friday = $32m Saturday = $42m Sunday = $32m Weekend (3-Day) = $106m Weekend (4-Day) = $147m Domestic - $460m Overseas - $500m Worldwide - $960m :razz:
Well it is a different movie.. LOTR was ass while the end of SW seems to be what thwe fans truly wanted in EPISODE I and didn't get, a movie that was supposed to beat TITANIC.. Maybe SITH will have it's crack at it now??? Wouldn't it be something if SITH pulled it off out of nowhere and beat TITANIC???

Though, don't you think it's a bit too small 3-day weekend? Just $67m after $41m opening day...typo?
I am pretty sure he meant the 3-day weekend...

I have said this for months now, to my friends, my co-workers and anyone who will lsiten. This film has me spyched. I get chills when I see the trailers. When Vader is rising and Palpatine's voice over is heard, that just gets my blodd pumping. I have taken off the 19rh from work so I can get to the first showing on Thursday. I am going to try and see it Wednesday evening but that could be tough.
