I was a recent lurker because I wanted to see how DS will do and after searching google, this thread was the only one I saw that has enough research and info. I have learned a lot these past weeks because of all your analyses and your insights. Thank you to all of you.

The giveaway effect has proven to be strong so far but I'm being cautious because of the fact that with each giveaway, the impact ceiling gets lower. Most people who went for a repeat viewing because of a giveaway will likely not go for another repeat viewing because of another giveaway, at least that's what logic would dictate. We've already had multiple giveaways, the strength of their effect cannot be everlasting. Maybe I'm lowballing it, but if I'm wrong, I'll gladly take a higher increase.

Are people allowed to buy a ticket to collect the giveaway item and then leave the theater? I'm sure for the fans, the price of admission is well worth the limited time collectible. They also wouldn't have to spend 2 hours rewatching the film if they really don't have the time for it.

Can someone check the reserve situation for Sunday? The reserve situation for Sat is +70% from the previous giveaway Sat (2 weeks ago), so Sun is supposed to be big too, no?

New Interpretation Records of the Three Kingdoms performed well on Friday, probably coming in around ~¥160/170 million ($1.5/1.6 million) with ~125,000 admissions or so.

From this first day, it should be targeting an opening weekend between ¥400-500 million ($4-5 million) and 300,000-400,000 admissions, so a 3-day total around ¥550-650 million ($5.5-6.5 million) and 425,000-525,000 admissions is possible.

So with this early weekend projection, a total of ¥4 billion ($40 million) would be possible. But let's wait and see more numbers before projecting a possible total for now.

After this weekend, Demon Slayer is going to be right on the cusp of the ¥30 billion (~$285 million) milestone, becoming only the second film to ever reach the mark (after Spirited Away of course). So it's either going to reach the milestone on its 59th-day (Sunday) or 60th-day (Monday) in release.

It's likely going to surpass Spirited Away and become the new #1 film of all-time next week, possibly on December 20th. It will need another week, maybe slightly less (such as Christmas Day), to beat Spirited Away's admissions to become the new #1 film of all-time in admissions, too.

Just being safe. Don't want to call ¥30 billion right now and it's at like ¥29.99 billion instead.

Reservations are very strong, and very likely indicate a weekend increase that would get it above ¥30 billion, but with the lower quantity of the limited giveaway this weekend (750,000), the reservations will understandably be very high for Saturday and probably Sunday, too.

Saturdays reservations two weeks ago (the previous giveaway weekend) were up 78% over the prior Saturday, but the weekend itself saw a decline of 3%. That 3% decline was still exceptional, obviously, but this shows that the Saturday reservations are accounting for a significant share of the weekend business.

The re-release is counted separated, so without it. When Demon Slayer breaks ¥¥30.8 billion, it'll be reported as the new highest-grossing film. If you add the re-release to Spirited Away's total, then Demon Slayer would likely surpass that number after another week or so (around Christmas).

Obviously this is pretty much uncharted territory so I'm kind of curious to see if it gets some sort of boost once it gets reported as the new highest grossing movie of all time, and how big if so.
