Matt Reeves would be a great choice IMO.

Up until this point, the studio's top scorers were Iron Man 3 and Avengers, which both tested in the high 90s. Good news. Though Avengers and IM3 weren't that good. Though I'm quite the fan of the latter.

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
So this means it will be in danger of being too broad and pleasing? Because that's what a 100% score tells me....that it pleases everyone. I'm not sure I want that. I was hoping Guardians 2 would be more like the first, though it will probably be excellent because of Stallone anyway.

Both Collider and Batman on Film have quoted sources as saying Affleck is actively negotiating to extract himself from the franchise. The writing has been on the wall for a while, I think it's just a question whether they come to an agreement. They really can use the new Director hire to allow everyone to save face. Say that Reeves wants to focus on the character earlier in his career (with a younger actor), keep Affleck on as a producer, etc

I'm going to a screening of Hacksaw Ridge tonight with a Mel Gibson Q&A. I imagine this will come up.

Mel is untested in this type of film. It could stink. It could be brilliant. I hope he declines this offer.

Mel said it's really early days and he may not end up doing it, but he's had story meetings with "the DC people" and he's having a lot of fun coming up with ideas for it.

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) in talks to direct Shazam for New Line. Which is odd because that's coming after Black Adam, which doesn't have a director...
