It just needs to be better than the prequels to have good WOM, which shouldn't be hard. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/star_wa ... e_sith_3d/All of Abrams' last three films have higher scores, so there's that.

I would say 110/375 for now. agreed. Prequels really dented the Star Wars aura. Going to be huge, still, but yeah...I'd be very surprised if t topped unadjusted episode 1.

Nobody hates them, but the originals were regarded MUCH higher.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
Prequel distaste aside, having Hamill/Ford/Fisher together again is a huge, huge nostalgia plus. Everyone knew what was going to happen in Ep. 1-3 eventually, so that's what makes #7 so interesting.
This is also backed by the Disney machine. Distaste over Ep. 1-3 will be minimized and this is going to get marketed like crazy leading to The Avengers 2 release.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
You first opened the thread as "$500m+". Then you edited the first post on 12th Feburary, 2010 (after the films release) and changed the title to $800m+, which is when you predicted $811m. That's not a prediction. That's a projection, at which point it already had $642m, and you were still out by almost $65m. In fact, that's a pretty bad projection.

This post from December 12, 2007 happens to be the first time I stated the film would clear 800m, and it was also when the film still had it's original May 2009 release date .I made my official prediction for Avatar in May 2008 around the time its release date was changed to December 2009. I knew you would point out when I edited the thread. Did you scroll through the first 10 pages? My 2nd official prediction, which I edited into the the first page was posted on October 29, 2009, and can be found on page 9 of the prediction thread.---------------------------------------------------- As for the 500m+ thread, as many already know I considered 500m the highest milestone with which I could get people to join the club. My post from January 8, 2007 is the firts time I guaranteed 500m+ for avatar. And now for the kill........... Multiplyer: 4.71 Interesting that you think it will make 2.36 times as much as ROTS DOM but just 2.04 times as much OS. Considering how the DOM and OS markets have changed since 2005, that seems unlikely. The International crowd is no where near as Star Wars crazy as the Domestic crowd. But I was comparing it to another SW film, so this is already taken into account.
