Re: Tranformers 4 < 250m Club This is the only one of your new clubs that has a chance, and it still isn't a good chance. Summer 2014 is just too weak. If this pulls a Pirates/Shrek then we might only have one $300M film next year, and even Dragon isn't a guarantee due to the four year gap.

Re: Tranformers 4 < 250m Club TF 3 didnt pull a Pirates 3/Shrek 3 performance, the film was still liked by general audiences, I don't see it declining that hard, specially with Bay's accident ( free marketing) 300m is a lock

Re: Tranformers 4 < 250m Club On any year with competition this could have happened but the last movie in the series had a bit better WOM (I think mostly because of 3D though not sure) and its drop wasn't huge (12.5% drop from TF2) specially when it had to compete with HP7.2 and Captain America.
If this dives close to Pirates 4 (which dropped 22% from Pirates 3) then it would get to $275m so for now I'm OUT and I don't know how Marky Mark became kiss of death here. Its not like Shia was a big pull for these movies.

Without DH2, TF3 would have ended up like near 370-380 million.
So it ended up strongly domestic and around expectations after a slower then expected start.
I think 250 million will happen with ease.

Re: Tranformers 4 < 250m Club I don't see it making less than 250, nor 275. It'll probably do 300 Anyway. For some reason, there are folks who actually enjoyed #2 and #3. Me? I just hate the direction the whole story went and the use of the new transformers in the sequels. Now we have Prime Riding Grimlock. Heck, Grimlock probably won't even sound like Grimlock. Probably be some Asian voice. I can just see it and how disgusting it will be BUT I will still fork over my 10.50 to watch it just to see it. I'm going in with negative expectations though so hopefully I'm blown the hell away.

Re: Tranformers 4 < 250m Club That's a very good point after second movie most people went with negative expectations which eventually made the third one look good. Plus the WOM for 3D was very good which bodes REALLY well for this sequel, it could easily get 65%-70% 3D in its OW.
