http://www.screendaily.com/news/distrib ... 03.articleThe film added an estimated $66.4m internationally and generated around 7.5m admissions from 15,400 screens in 59 markets was led by an $8m (€5.5m) number one hold in Germany for $61.1m (€43.2m), $6.9m (¥541m) in Japan in second place for $66.7m (¥5.3bn) and $6.5m (€4.5m) in France in second for $50.5m (€35.8m). Deathly Hallows: Part 2 held at number one in the UK, which remains the top market outside North America on $88.5m (£55.4m) following a $7.3m (£4.5m) weekend haul. Australia delivered $4.1m (A$3.8m) in second for $47.3m (A$44.4m), South Korea $3.5m (KRW3.6bn) at number one for $24.4m (KRW25.7bn), Brazil $2.9m (R4.4m) in second for $32.3m (R50.6m), Mexico $1.9m (Ps 22.3m) in second for $32.8m (Ps 385.5m), Italy $1.5m (€1.05m) at number one for $29.4m (€20.9m) and Spain $1.2m (€830,000) in third for $18.7m (€13.3m).

So, it could pass Dead Man's Chest by Thursday, but probably more like Friday. It could pass ROTK next Sunday depending on the holds.

I'd expect at the very least $50 million from China, though likely a lot more.

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.)
Not a bad drop (about half), could go up again in estimates. This can probably do around $825-850m without China. With China it's gunning for anywhere between $850m-925m. If it outpeforms in China like TF3 (don't think so however), it may hit $950m+.
At this stage I'm going for $380m + $925m = $1.305bn.

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.)
What a year....three new entries inside the Top 10 WW charts
Potter should get to #3 easily with approx $1.3bn. Transformers should then take #4 (i think it'll beat ROTK - it's going to be oh so very close) at around $1.125bn.
Pirates 4 should get to around $1.037bn.
Next year, TDKR, Hobbit and Ice Age 4 should also smash through $1billion you would think.

I hope you are talking about OS totals alone crossing those in OS is a lock but in WW charts it will take some time now. It is at $1.08b now (with estimates) so it needs another $111m to cross ROTK in WW chart. I don't think it will make another $100m in next 7 days. With $66m weekend and about $17m weekdays (average) last 7 days, I see $9m weekdays (average) and $35m weekend for $71m-$75m OS in next 7 days. Add another $25m domestic and it still might fall short of $111m.

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.)
This is just Massive total. And it is still making $60m+ over the weekends, if it holds as good as Avatar it can pass Titanic, ofcourse that is not going to happen . With the current holds I see $850m OS from holdovers and another $70m from China and Indonesia for a total of $920m OS. Add in another $375m domestic and you have $1.295b, it should crawl past $1.3b mark Interestingly Harry Potter was taken over by another Harry Potter movie and was kicked out of Top 10 WW chart after 10 years by the trio of Pirates, HP and TF3.

Hmm it does open in China this weekend, which I forgot to factor in. The numbers with my predictions were anyways close so it should cross ROTK WW this weekend for #3.

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.)
In Australia, Captain America had an OK start with AU$4.6m. Not quite as big as Thor's $5.3m but on par with X-Men FC's $4.7m.
Harry Potter declined another big 52%. It's officially surpassed the original HP1 (AU$42,348,061) to become the largest in the franchise. it also topped last year's Toy Story 3 to become the largest release since Avatar and now sits just a smidgen below TDK and TTT.
At this rate $50m is a lock though it appears to be dying quicker than expected, so $55m may not be a given just yet. Competition will continue to be strong with Rise of the Apes next week, followed by the long overdue opening of Green Lantern. It'll hold onto IMAX screens for quite some time but will likely start to shed the big 3D screens to Green Lantern...etc.
I'm thinking it's somewhere between $53-56m which will elevate it above ROTK's 49,370,354 and Shrek 2's 50,388,327 to enter the Top 3 all-time; however, It'll likely fall short of Titanic's $57,647,302 unless it can start dropping in the 10-20%.

Yep looks like that and it is definitely surprising IMO for a series to be so consistent and see such big increase with last movie, though I believe 3D helped it a lot.

It's doing really well in pretty much all of the major markets; however, there are a few sluggish ones. South Korea is not particular impressive (its predecessors weren't that great either), and Spain (where it actually lags a few Potter movies in US$ after 3 weekends).

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.)
From here on the theater count decrease will really hurt Potter IMO. This has majority of the screens from past 3 weeks even when movies like CA and Cars 2 are releasing, I don't think theater owners will hold so many screens from here on when it is dropping almost 50% at most of the places.

It's still pulling in strong grosses though, despite the massive drops. It's taken 3 weeks for moves to start beating Potter.

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.)
Hong Kong
$910,000 (my est.) (-47%) 3rd weekend
That's not a great hold. It had light competition with only 1 new opener of any consequence. It should stand at 8.4m after this weekend. 10m looks like a longshot but the legs so far this year for sequels have been better than usual so who knows...

August 4 - Captain America + Smurfs (you know how people love small things...Gulliver's Travels, Mr. Popper's Penguins) + 2 other openers August 11 - Cars 2 + Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes + 2 other openers August 18 - Final Destination 5 + Overheard 2, Larry Crowne August 25 - Horrible Bosses, Insidious, Cowboys & Aliens + 3 other openers All weekends in August will see battles. No time for Harry Potter to recover. It will finish with more than 9m though which widely beats OotP by more than 2m.

Its run in HK is definitely nothing to write about, kinda disappointing both in opening as well holding.

Re: HARRY POTTER 7-2: Deathly Hallows (INTL.)
The Netherlands:
1 1 3 HARRY POTTER 7 (PART 2) €1,028,792 -40.8% (221/€4,655) €8.732.740 2 - 1 CAPTAIN AMERICA:THE FIRST AVENGER €372,693 (75/€4,969) €382,462 3 - 1 HORRIBLE BOSSES €358,560 (84/€4,268) €385,019 4 2 4 CARS 2 €308,842 -45.4% (158/€1,954) €3,320,243 5 - 1 MONTE CARLO €159,374 (47/€3,390) €176,571
HP7.1 dropped 39.8% in its third weekend, with a €5.952.952 total. 7.2 is definitely distancing itself from part 1 with similar weekend drops, higher weekend numbers and vastly superior weekday numbers. At this pace it looks like a lock for €14 million, behind only the first HP film as the #2 in the franchise, while €15 million is still a possibility.
It skipped from #29 to #24 all time, surpassing the lifetime gross of HP3.
21 Ice Age 3 €8.998.795 22 New Kids: Turbo €8.829.381 23 Finding Nemo €8.761.527 24 Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows pt.2 €8.732.740 25 Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban €8.344.969 26 Flodder In Amerika €8.305.214 27 The Da Vinci Code €8.089.460
It should enter the top 20 by the end of next weekend, with nearly €10 million in the bag. From there on it's a race toward the top 10, with pretty much everything between #19 and #11 being really close together before the big wall that is the Lion King awaits.
