Libs wrote: Source Code now at 93% with 58 total reviews. Can it stay above 90%? That's really so much more than I ever expected for it. I really hope it opens well with WOM to match. On the flip side, Hop is pretty much being torn to shreds. We'll see if it keeps parents from busting out their wallets this weekend.

 Re: April 1-3 Predictions
The really surprising thing is that it's beating Moon in reviews easily. It doesn't have as much reviews as Moon, but with already near 60 reviews the ratio of good/bad ones should stay the same I'd say...

Moon ended with a 90% positive and 7.4 rating. Source Code is currently at 91% and 7.3. They're just about even. On a side-note this is looking very promising for Duncan Jones to become a highly acclaimed sci-fi director.

 Re: April 1-3 Predictions
I bet Trust will have brutal PTA this weekend in 28 theatres. Almost no advertising or buzz. Which is a pity because it has good reviews (**** from Ebert, for example). Another flop for poor Clive Owen.

The budget for INSIDIOUS was only 1 Million. Should turn an easy profit.

 Re: April 1-3 Predictions
I'm likely in the minority here, but I see Hop disappointing this weekend. Yes, the marketing was aggressive, but Rio looks like the much better option. The reviews certainly won't help budget conscious parents, either. Under $20m OW for me.

 Re: April 1-3 Predictions
I honestly don't think reviews are going to matter very much with Hop. If there is one genre that has been mostly invincible in this ongoing box office slump, its kid-friendly/family/animated comedies.
That said, animation/live action hybrids don't have a good history at all...but with Brand's ever-increasing exposure and the perfect timing of Hop's release for Easter season, I just get the sense that kids are ready to eat this thing up (no pun intended). Usually when that happens, it doesn't matter what the parents think of the reviews (if they even see them).
As far as Source Code goes, I think it would have opened a little stronger had Limitless not broken out. But with all of the recent PG-13 thrillers doing well (Unknown, Adjustment, Limitless), plus Gyllenhaal's lacking ability to sell a film yet, I just don't sense this will get a ton of attention on opening weekend despite the great reviews (which will mainly matter to the Internet crowd that was already representing the lion's share of the film's upfront interest anyway).
Insidious is a total wild card. I have it sub-$10 million because of what I felt has been a lack of marketing, but Twitter signs are strong and with the PG-13 rating the teenage crowd could easily eat this up and push it up as high as $12-13 million in a best case scenario (IMO). There are just too many PG-13 offerings out there though, and I'm not sure the marketing for the film kicked off early enough.

Thanks - possibly a bad sign for Insidious not making the top 5.

 Re: April 1-3 Predictions
Hop is going to set a record low for a Twitter ratio. The service is becoming less reliable for kid's films, IMO. 'Hop' was challenging due to the simplicity of its name, though.

 Re: April 1-3 Predictions
Yeah, the accuracy of that tracking (understandably) goes to hell with names that hard to search for. I think it should only be used heavily for more distinct titles. SC and Insidious both appear to be headed directly for their predictions though, it's definitely a more worthwhile source than MTC/RS as the rule looks to fail epicly this weekend.
