 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $1.606bn Worldwide (#2)
Well, I find it interesting. Thanks for updating us.
I suppose money-wise (in $) it'll likely become #2 or #1 all-time.

I think that #1 in $ shouldn't be a problem. Right now Avatar is heading for a 3.3-3.5M adm. total and that would be over $27M

 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $1.606bn Worldwide (#2)
With the current numbers I think so everyone overseas should have already seen it. If not everyone than most of the them. It should slow down now and no more 100M weekends for sure. Though I would love to see few more(100M weekend) I don't think it is possible anymore. The biggest market where it is relatively new (i.e. China) has been sacked as well. So we should see some drops now

 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $1.606bn Worldwide (#2)
Well, Avatar is arguably the worst film to ever become #1 all time (inevitable at this point). I haven't seen "Birth of a Nation" yet, though!
Still, it's sort of cool to see that films can still approach the level of cultural ubiquity that they used to.

Hey I am not such a big fan of Avatar but still it is not the worst. There are a lot of strong points though all we look for is the weak story line. That is not the only thing that matters.
Great no way. Worst definitely not.

Great no way. Worst definitely not. Well, I mean, it's competition is: Titanic E.T. Star Wars Jaws The Godfather The Sound of Music Gone With the Wind King Kong (??) The Birth of a Nation (??) It's not like there have been a string of really shitty films to be the biggest ever. That's a fairly respectable list when taking populist tendencies into consideration. ETA: Include Jurassic Park, since we are in the WW thread, and even that is oodles better than Avatar.

No . . . because it's (arguably) worst means it's (arguably) worst? I mean, I liked Titanic a whole lot, it's not like I have some bias against newer/Cameron-directed films.

 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $1.606bn Worldwide (#2)
Yesterday (Tuesday) AVATAR passed the 6m admissions mark in Germany...
BTW, my readers predicted 4.1m on average for total cume before the movie opened... (I predicted 6m but went up to 9m during opening weekend when I read the first crowd reports flooding my website...)

Well, it's obviously making $100m+ from Germany at this point, how much far beyond will it reach?

I didn't like Titanic and Gone with the Wind so for me there are 2 movies that are worse than Avatar on that list of highest grossers.

With 10.19m admissions in five weeks AVATAR now became the 25th biggest hit since World War II in France and the 16th biggest non-French movie...
With 13.86m admissions AVATAR will enter the Top Ten since WWII...

The reason why I am an Avatar "fanboy" is because I think its one of the best film of 2009, and is a great epic entertaining picture...

You are not a fanboy like Nazgul then, you are just someone who is easy to satisfy, i.e. an average dunce.
