Hmm, when was the last time a sub-$2 million grosser won a major Oscar?

Pollock is the closest example I could think of, where it had two major noms, and Harden, who wasn't even predicted much for a nomination, came from behind to win at the end.

I'm beginning to think Stanley Tucci could be nominated for Julie & Julia and not The Lovely Bones. Would lend more credence to Meryl being a frontrunner, as well, kind of like when Denzel propelled Ethan Hawke to a nom for Training Day.

Nah, Tucci's getting in for The Lovely Bones.

Matt Damon "Invictus"
Woody Harrelson "The Messenger"
Christopher Plummer "The Last Station"
Stanley Tucci "The Lovely Bones"
Christoph Waltz "Inglourious Basterds"

I think SAG has it right with this five. Could still see Molina having a shot but have no idea who he could replace at this stage.

I still think with The Hurt Locker getting traction, Mackie could pull a surprise nom here instead of Plummer or Tucci.
