a) We are getting rid of the parameters. There will be no restrictions to sign up to be a candidate. You could have joined October 11, 2004 or July 10, 2009. You could have been banned 17x.

This does not mean, however, that you are going to be eligible to actually run. At the end of the day, we do not want this to turn into a joke. We realize how easy it is for someone not suited for the position to sign up and get elected because people might think it’s “funny.”

b) In order to be able to “run,” you must be approved by the current team. We’ll be doing it a little differently. You will need approval from 3 out of the 5 members of the team (out of zingy, Christian, xiayun, MadGez and myself). But, we’re going to do this approval publicly. To promote our “transparency.” Each of the team members will go through the list of candidates at the end of the week and give a “yay” or “nay,” as well as an explanation why they chose that answer.

Someone would have to do something special to convince me to run. I'm waiting!

I'm pretty sure I would be a terrible moderator, but I will get, at max, 2 votes, so I don't mind running.
