 Moderator Elections! K, as promised, we're going to be holding elections for two moderator positions. Here's the timeline: - You all can begin announcing your intention to run for a moderator position now - Deadline to announce yourself as a nominee is Sunday, July 12 (by, say, 11:59pm) - We will finalize the list of candidates to be posted on Monday, July 13- Voting for moderator positions will begin Tuesday, July 14 and end on Sunday, July 19- New Moderator Announcement: Monday, July 20Post in this thread if you wanna run. Make your FYC threads or whatever you gotta do, but post here once with your intention to run. And make it clear, please. How this will be conducted: Quote: a) We are getting rid of the parameters. There will be no restrictions to sign up to be a candidate. You could have joined October 11, 2004 or July 10, 2009. You could have been banned 17x.
This does not mean, however, that you are going to be eligible to actually run. At the end of the day, we do not want this to turn into a joke. We realize how easy it is for someone not suited for the position to sign up and get elected because people might think it’s “funny.”
b) In order to be able to “run,” you must be approved by the current team. We’ll be doing it a little differently. You will need approval from 3 out of the 5 members of the team (out of zingy, Christian, xiayun, MadGez and myself). But, we’re going to do this approval publicly. To promote our “transparency.” Each of the team members will go through the list of candidates at the end of the week and give a “yay” or “nay,” as well as an explanation why they chose that answer.
