New York. I don't hate it, but I find it bizarre and almost removed from the reality most around the world live in. Which will probably upset my friend dolce, but to me NY is like it's another country.
The last time I visited I got anxiety just walking around it. I don't know, maybe it's that I had such a small scale upbringing in small town America then a small town in the West Indies, but NY is overwhelming to the point of making me want to flee in horror. And I'm talking about the good areas, not even getting into the bad areas.
Recently, a few months ago, Tom Wolfe said he was sitting around a dinner party in NY and a few said that if Bush won they'd go to another country. He told them they were already in one. :wink:

I've spent time visiting my family in Neu Ulm, amoung other cities and it's forbidden to speak of the war. When someone does bring it up, the response is always the same. "Oh, that was a long time ago."
