 Re: September 19-21 Predictions
Hounddog is actually only opening in 11 theaters. They were first thinking of doing a fairly wide release, but now they are going to slolwy expand it. Probably because of the early bad reviews : (

Every middle aged man who sees Hounddog this weekend should be marked into the suspicious characters and possible offenders database and have a tail follow them from that point on.

 Re: September 19-21 Predictions
Am I the only one who thinks it is fairly obvious that Lakeview Terrace will (somewhat) "break out" and grab the #1 spot?
The trailer was effective and attached to several big Summer movies.

The trailer was effective and attached to several big Summer movies. Maybe it's just me, but I'm actually still yet to see a trailer or TV spot. I didn't even know it was coming out next weekend until I read this thread.

I didn't even know it was coming out next weekend until I read this thread. I've definitely seen the most advertising for it of any of the new movies. I thought it seemed like an obvious hit. I see at the minimum 13 Million.

I think Igor can manage at Least 8m since there hasn't been a famiLy movie that did weLL in quite a Long time.

 Re: September 19-21 Predictions
Has Igor been marketed at all? A few months back I would have thought it would be good for a $50m total gross - but looks like everyone is lowballing it.

Boy, this Sept. is a yawner compared to other ones. I feel sorry for Ricky Gervais, he is so funny but he is stuck in Sixth Sense: The Comedy.

Although I don't think a 20 million plus weekend is happening, a 15 million plus is certainly possible. I think it looks interesting enough to get that. Plus the trailer got a good reaction every time I saw it.

 Re: September 19-21 Predictions
Seems really high for Igor considering the dearth of marketing. This doesn't seem like another Hoodwinked. Hopefully, Lakeview Terrace can exceed those low expectations.

MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL: Mid Teens IGOR: Low Teens Lakeview: Mid Single Digits Ghost Town: Low Single Digits (no longer even mid)
Future: St Anna: Mid Single Digits Eagle Eye: Low 30's Nick & Norah: Low Double Digits Nights in Rodanthe: Low Double Digits Beverly Hills: Low 20's
As notfabio said, they are lowballing Lakeview. I think it will break double digits. But My Best Friend Girl is still the clear favorite to be no. 1. Eagle Eye is looking good. Would not be surprised if it went to high 30s. Def. think Sept record is within range for this. EWW at Beverly Hills Chihuahua

 Re: September 19-21 Predictions
Does Lakeview Terrace remind anyone of the movie Paparazzi? I mean the unintentional humor is almost the same unless it really was trying to convey the dark humor like Falling Down
