Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Wall-E, Wanted
I won't lie, an opening weekend under 65 million would be disappointing to me, unless this film whips out a multiplier over 4.5.

1997 for Wall-E 1993 for Wanted
2 hours left. Both can get to 2100.
The lowest I'm willing to go on Wall-E is $24 mil.
Wanted is really just a shot in the dark for me at this point. But I still believe in $16 mil

Wanted is really just a shot in the dark for me at this point. But I still believe in $16 mil It's hard to say without a business report from someone. We have some good theater reports for individual showings, but little else. I still see Wall-E in the low 20's based on a relayed business report at my theater, but I generally don't get exact numbers on the spot. Wanted is also doing superb at my theater, but since we typically draw strongly for these type of films year 'round, I tend to lower my guesstimate to something more plausible.

With a $26 mil OD... a $73 mil OW... a 4.6 multiplier... $336 mil total.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Wall-E, Wanted
I'm quite curious to see what Wall-E's Saturday will be like, given how topheavy the advance sales were. I'm guessing all that means is that the film is attracting an older audience that wanted to see it opening day.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Wall-E, Wanted
Wow, excellent late pace for Wanted. The Friday is going to be quite closer than what most expected. I still have Wall-E at $25m, but up my Wanted number to $17m. Pretty much final now.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Wall-E, Wanted
Wanted was interlocked like crazy around theaters here tonight. I feel like xiayun's $17M prediction could be within reach for a slightly under $45M weekend.

It has Angelina Jolie... how can it be good?? Rottentomatoes has not convinced me yet.

For a short while, I thought it could pull another American Gangster. Then I figured, not with the competition. Good film or not, I will be more than impressed if this opens to $40m+.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Wall-E, Wanted
With how the day has been going, Wall-E will finish with about 2200. Wanted with about 2250.
Wall-E could get a ratio from 75-90. For $24-27.5 mil
Wanted could get a ratio from 120-135. For $16-18 mil.

About 10 minutes until 2nd to last update.
I may not stay up for the final update... which means my FINAL projections will be coming soon!

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Wall-E, Wanted
I'm just going to round both up to 2200, as Yahoo won't update for the final tally.
So, the final projections:
Wall-E: I want to give this an 85 ratio, as that's the number that keeps popping in my head. So, $25.9 mil OD. Headed to a $70-71 mil OW.
Wanted: I think a 125-130 ratio is a little easier to swallow than a 120 or lower ratio. So, about $17.4 mil OD. Headed to a $45-47 mil OW.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Wall-E, Wanted
Wanted appears to have done incredibly well for a movie that was delayed for almost half a year. It looked pretty dumb too. Reminded me of a cross between The Matrix and Hitman but exaggerated to the Nth degree.

Hancock - 650 (73) +0 (+0) B+ Kit Kettridge: An American Girl - 68 (2) +0 (+0) B+ I have no idea how many reviews there were before today, but Kit was in limited release for two weeks already,so the ratio will probably be high. Great grade for Hancock so far, considering early word.

I'd say 80 for Hancock, and 150 (?) for Kit.

WOM is looking really good for Hancock. Looks like the early bad buzz was for the R rated Hancock.
