Script spoiler
Theres a good chance the real scarecrow will never be seen in the trailers. Johnathan Crane, till the very end of the movie, does not become the scarecrow though he does have a sort of a mask throughout the movie.

i didnt know anyone that thought Lou Ferrigno was the title character. It hasn't got anything to do with reading the comic book, it just wasn't a good movie. I have never read a spiderman or x-men comic but i liked these movies, they were widely liked, the Hulk wasn't.
And, im pretty sure 90% of the audience weren't the type who grew up on the 70's show. More like young kids; 8-15year olds.

Yeah, the majority of the public just didn't like that much what they saw, it's as easy as that.

He keeps saying no one outside of net nerds even know that Batman Begins is being released. Yet, every time Liam and Morgan were interviewed last weekend, that was the next question they were asked about following Kinsey and Million Dollar Baby. It's all about Batman Begins.

He said "I don't know ANYONE who thought Ferrigno is going to be The Hulk in the movie", not " I don't know ANYONE who thought Ferrigno isn't going to be The Hulk in the movie".

Thats what I say. BKB you seem to be skimming through our points that Batman HAS awareness outside the net like Loyallondon has said. Its trailer has been shown a few times during The Village and O12's screenings, they all seem to get good reaction. As Loyal has mentioned, there are a few times when Liam and Morgan has been questioned about Batman and not to mention I have seen the Batman Begins costume on the cover of a few magazines while shopping. As far as the Batman sequels being a failure, when has your opinion of a movie ever qualifies Batman Forever as a bomb? I didnt like the movie either but it did make alot of money. For your information, I always thought that when Michael Keaton was cast as Batman, he was too old to be playing him (he was 37 when he was cast), he also had this child molester look about him. I agree about Clooney being miscast but Val Kilmer fit the Batman personal perfectly. I still loved the original Batman more

More news.
Almost all major theatres (and i've been to 4 cities now) have the batman preview posters up. and almost exclusively without other posters being around it ... much like Ep3

Th picture is a manip of an actual scarecrow concept someone made (which was pretty good). the person in question added a hat and a couple of touches and put this into the image.

What about the audience who embraced the 1989 Batman despite it being completely different from the 60's TV show?
What do you think happened? Large groups of people walked out of the movie saying "Wow, that was one great film! Entertaining, dramatic, thrilling, filled with terrific CG and daring performances. It's just a shame I can't embrace it because it's so markedly different from an earlier television incarnation of the same character..." Audiences would have embraced it regardless of how different it turned out to be from their expectations if it was actually any good.
And if Hulk is as perfect an adaptation of the comic book as you say it is, then that's got to be one boring, overlong, up itself comic book.

Batman Begins looks quite "meh" right now. I think this is appealing to internet users shall we say, way way more than public audiences. Its relying too much on anticipation for a film series that has been notoriously mashed to peices and needs to pull out all the stops, and be critically praised [although knowing internet fanboyism, the netcritic segment is practically sold right now anyway] to avoid bad box office figures. But i do have the feeling it will be frontloaded as hell. Batman films, while ive enjoyed some of them, have never really been a big deal for me. I guess its because the closest thing im a fanboy to is J.G.
It seems to be going the way of darkness - and look at Elektra, The Punisher et all, mainstream dark movies rarely if ever do well, because they try to take themselves too seriously - an error a blockbuster should never make.
Look at Pirates of the Caribbean, one of the biggest hits in history and it was all because it was entertaining, well acted and writen and at its core it was a spoof of pirate films, just layered up as a pirate film in its own right.

I think no one right now can really tell what the normal public thinks ... the main marketing has been focussed over the internet ... and in the past 2 months only has the main push towards the average audience. ...

I dunno. I don't think the awareness is super-high that there is a new Batman film yet. I think if you watch Entertainment Tonight or E! regularly then you probably know, but I don't expect the general public to start caring about Batman until after the Superbowl.

Thank You.. EXACTLY and it is the Internet World that's overhyping the hell out of this, not the general public.. As for all this HULK Brouhaha?? Blow it out your asses.. In the end, regardless if what I said was the truth(and it was), then your obviously not going to believe that, but only what you folks want to believe.. Like it or not, YES, The audience for the HULK was alot of Baby Boomers and YES, most people thought Ferrigno was gonna be the title character and NOT fucking CGI.. The End.. ](*,) =D>

Its just that everyones getting super excited over quite a mediocre logo/poster and a few short teasers that make Batman look like a drama movie rather than an action one. Audiences that will be targeted here aren't looking for gut wrenching drama, they want cool special effects, a good enough storyline, some decent acting and a bit of light humour here and there.
They could have comprimised without going campy in the way of previous Batman films.

I predict Roger Ebert to give BATMAN BEGINS Thumbs Down citing that it had to borrow from LOTR and 7 Years in Tibet with the Sword fighting and treking through the Mountains to put a potentially dying franchise back on the Map when they should've just stopped with the 1989 BATMAN which is the only true BATMAN film and Michael Keaton being the true essence of Bruce Wayne/Batman.. =D>
