Back to that date again. Terrible.
They should have released it against The Hitcher in January. It may have made some decent money.

I have a bad feeling Rescue Dawn is going to be bad. They keep messing with the date usually thats not a good sign.

Why oh why has the reaping moved to a Thursday??
Miss Congeniality 2 managed to make $3,055,304.
I say the reaping makes $1,750,000, if it's released in over 2,500 theatres.
which is most likely.

All good moves. Especially for Mr Bean.
21 for Winter 2008 - does that mean Jan/Feb 08??

Magnus wrote: I think Winter does mean Jan/Feb 2008. After reading on that, the film looks interesting. Plot is interesting, and it has Spacey/Fishburne. Could actually be a Jan/Feb film that you can look forward to.
Great move for Made of Honors. That will have great legs FOR SURE. Def. could see 75m+ for it just because of Valentines Day/Presidents Day boost, and the fact that the Greys Anatomy crowd will go cause of Demphsney(yeah, I spelled that wrong). If you think about it, it could have a 5-day weekend from Feb 14th-Feb18th. Thursday will be Valentines, then you have regular weekend, and then you have Presdients Day.
I think the Golden Age should really move Thanksgiving Day. The film has award-season written all over it, and while Departed did win with a October release, I still think the film would have broken 150m+ at the BO if it was released later. November is somewhat empty and I think the Golden Age could get a good opening there, and then get some great legs(depending on WOM and awards noms/wins).
Green Hornet? Seriously...what the hell. I really don't know how people will really want to go see this film unless they make it more like a spoof. Even still...what the hell.
Yeah 21 is one of my most anticipated of 08. A Feb release could be good.
Green Hornet was mooted for 10 years now and it was supposed to star George Clooney. Its small time but with very little scheduled for 09 (so far) - it seems alright for now.

I think I recall something like that too. Before that it was Clooney.

Wasn't there a rumor that Jack Black was going to be the Green Hornett at one time? Or Am I thinking of the Green Arrow or the Green Lantern.

Wait, they're still trying to release this?
And damn the person that moved Atonement from August to December, even if that's promising for the quality.

Since the date move, the only times "Limited in December, wide in January" has worked have been Million Dollar Baby, Munich and Letters from Iwo Jima, and those were from Spielberg and Eastwood. Burton is no Spielberg or Eastwood in the eyes of the Academy.
The movie will be a disaster anyway, so only techs for it.

And it just so happens that those three movies all happend to be in the past three years. It probably won't WIN anything because it may be too "werid" for the Academy, but Paramoutn must have some confidence that it can get some nominations, and it has a good chance at winning in the Golden Globes as it would be placed in the Comedy/Musical category.
Much like Dreamgirls.
I really just think the Academy just isn't too high on musicals after Chicago. The closest thing to a success has been Dreamgirls, and they weren't able to rally up enough support. Sweeney Todd might be able to get some Burton fans that think he's deserving of some sort of major recognition, but I don't think it'll get the reviews or box office needed.
