Chris Weitz to replace Hardwicke? So much for girl power. Well, ABOUT A BOY was GREAT. But this doesn't seem like his kind of movie. They should get Kevin Williamson . oh yeah, his last werewolf film was great!

I enjoyed Cursed myself. I thought it was pretty entertaining. And it's not like you need someone great to direct Twilight. The source material itself isn't great, and Williamson gets teen angst (Dawson's Creek).

Well, Chris Weitz is apparently officially in.
Should take some advive from his brother, Paul Weitz, who has just shot another vampire flick (Cirque du Freak).

Well now they only need to keep the budget under 60m $. ( I heard that they will need more CGI in this movie so the cost will go up )

The studio can just hire some cheap Hollywood hack to do it and they'll still gross $150 million+. If the movie is not well received it will hit DVD sales and the entire franchise from then on. It could be the difference between TDK and a gross of 130m. Yeah. Sure it had the fanbase going in and it was bound to do well. However, that was bound to happen because of the potential that the franchise could have been said to have owned. So, in a sense getting the wrong people to work on it can cause a franchise to lose tens or hundreds of million over several films as it drops and doesn't reach its optimal level. I thought 13 was great. I'm not sure what you mean by hack.

Re: Catherine Hardwicke fired from New Moon?!
I'm not sure if it's the right move or not. The movie did well mostly because of the opening. Although the late legs probably do say something about WOM. I have not seen it and have no idea of who it's owed to.
Weitz is an interesting choice. Didn't he do TGC? I'm not certain about him with this type of film. But then TGC had many problems.
