Boo! No big noms for Brokeback and only a top 9 mention. Decent enough, right?
I like seeing Crash up there and especially Terrance Howard.
Kiera Knightley is another great choice for actress, so I'm pleased.
Not sure about Oliver Platt's bit in Casanova, which didn't look to be anything special from the trailers. We'll see?
Also great to see late mentions for Constant Gardener, though I would probably give Joe Wright a win if the awards ceremonies were held right now....

Actually, these little critic circles awards never really impress me much in connection with academy voters. We may as well vote in this forum and would get just as close if not closer.

I would say Brokeback has more in connection with half this board than Crash does. What's a shame, is that it looks like Crash could have been a 100 million grosser if they would have waited and released it in November. It also might be one of the frontrunners for some major awards.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) when it comes to Crash, LGF (Lions Gate) is a big issue here, being that they've never got anything nominated.

Crash's ploy for BP is that it hired every single actor in Hollywood to be in it, so now it has all the support of the acting branch because obviously they will vote for themselves!
And then people like Sandra Bullock is calling up people like Goldie Hawn and is all like:

Syriana (Warner Bros.) Pretty good selection. And I'm pretty sure Hoffman is a shew-in for the Oscar win by now. I haven't seen everything, but nice sight on Adams, who looks more and more an Academy nomineee with each passing day. Syriana wasn't that impressive. Downfall is spectacular and really lost out last year when no one had heard of it.
But really, I wish for this thread to be locked.
