 Re: Best Original Song
I too am happy about the three Enchanted nominations, mainly because it almost guarentees a win for Once now.

 Re: Best Original Song
The 3 nominations for Enchanted and notice for the lovely Falling Slowly (I really need to see Once; I've had the soundtrack on my iPod for months but still haven't gotten around to seeing the movie) are almost enough to make up for the horrifying omission of Eddie Vedder's work in Into the Wild. I would have liked to have seen either Hard Sun (which wasn't eligible) or Guaranteed (which was) get nominated.

Once has got it locked.

 Re: Best Original Song
Dreamgirls got 3 nods.
The thing with multiple songs from a Disney film, the ballad usually wins against the fun, novelty ones - Beauty and the Beast love theme beat Belle and Be My Guest; A Whole New World beat Friend Like Me; Can You Feel the Love Tonight beat Hakuna Matata (and the other ballad, Circle of Life). If an Enchanted song was to win, could it be So Close?
The only fun Disney song to win from an animated musical iis Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid ( it beat Kiss the Girl; Part of Your World wasn't nominated).
Anyway...
This is actually a strong bunch. Haven't heard the August Rush song though. I'd probably prefer one of the songs from Music and Lyrics...

 Re: Best Original Song
I didn't remember the August Rush song but then I previewed it on iTunes. I vaguely recall it as being a song sung by a church choir (with like an 8-year old girl on lead vocals) that Freddie Highmore watches.
I love all three songs from Enchanted. I would LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE if Amy Adams performed. If we, you know, have Oscars.
And I love the Once song too. I still need to see that damn movie.

 Re: Best Original Song
Like everyone else, as soon as I saw it's three noms, Once had it in the bag. BUT it is Disney, and they love the man behind the songs who's name escapes me so you never know.

 Re: Best Original Song
Enchanted will probably split its votes, and the award will likely go to "Once."
I really liked Enchanted's music, but "Falling Slowly" is the best written-for-film song of all-time, at least from what I've heard.

"Falling Slowly" better win, or there will be hell to pay.

 Re: Best Original Song
I think with Enchanted splitting votes, Once has it in the bag.
