It's going to either "That's How You Know," "Falling Slowly," or "Walk Hard".

I've listened to most of the other songs people are talking about...none of 'em are as good as these three.

Any song from Once, Walk Hard, and/or Music and Lyrics would be just fine with me. It looks like i finally might not be dissapointed this year in the Best Original Song Category! :)

The winner of this category has to be either "Falling Slowly" or "That's How You Know." Nothing else compares to this two songs

At this point I'm thinking "Guaranteed" wins as Into the Wild's make-up win. "Falling Slowly" has a great shot at winning if it gets nominated elsewhere though.

Outside of a wacky Best Picture nom, I haven't the slightest idea where Once could be nominated. Best Score?

I'm holding out hope on a Screenplay nom. If it can get in there (The writers are usually good at noticing smaller but well-received films), trhen I think it can get the support needed to win. If not, Into the Wild wins it.

the smaller but well received films they'll include are The Savages and maybe Before the Devil Knows You're Dead...probably not Once.

I've always thought the Scripters awarded only adaptations (novel to film)?

That they do. I would say that NCFOM is a lock to win it, but these guys also awarded Mytic River AND Seabiscuit IN A TIE over LOTR, so...

I've noticed they nominated Bourne Supremacy despite the movie not really following the novel. I wonder if they'll nominate Ultimatum?

Can I say how thrilled I am about the songs from Enchanted getting in? "That's How You Know" is adorable and "So Close" is really, really pretty.

Blame the random song from August Rush.

I too am happy about the three Enchanted nominations, mainly because it almost guarentees a win for Once now. :D

The 3 nominations for Enchanted and notice for the lovely Falling Slowly (I really need to see Once; I've had the soundtrack on my iPod for months but still haven't gotten around to seeing the movie) are almost enough to make up for the horrifying omission of Eddie Vedder's work in Into the Wild. I would have liked to have seen either Hard Sun (which wasn't eligible) or Guaranteed (which was) get nominated.

Actually, the first thing I thought when I saw the three nominations was, "Well, Once has got it in the bag!" ;)

Didn't Dreamgirls have 3 song nominations?

Yup, which led to it's demise. Once has got it locked.

Dreamgirls got 3 nods.

The thing with multiple songs from a Disney film, the ballad usually wins against the fun, novelty ones - Beauty and the Beast love theme beat Belle and Be My Guest; A Whole New World beat Friend Like Me; Can You Feel the Love Tonight beat Hakuna Matata (and the other ballad, Circle of Life). If an Enchanted song was to win, could it be So Close?

The only fun Disney song to win from an animated musical iis Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid ( it beat Kiss the Girl; Part of Your World wasn't nominated).

Anyway...

This is actually a strong bunch. Haven't heard the August Rush song though. I'd probably prefer one of the songs from Music and Lyrics...

I didn't remember the August Rush song but then I previewed it on iTunes. I vaguely recall it as being a song sung by a church choir (with like an 8-year old girl on lead vocals) that Freddie Highmore watches.

I love all three songs from Enchanted. I would LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE if Amy Adams performed. If we, you know, have Oscars.

And I love the Once song too. I still need to see that damn movie.

Like everyone else, as soon as I saw it's three noms, Once had it in the bag. BUT it is Disney, and they love the man behind the songs who's name escapes me so you never know.

Enchanted will probably split its votes, and the award will likely go to "Once."

I really liked Enchanted's music, but "Falling Slowly" is the best written-for-film song of all-time, at least from what I've heard.

I think with Enchanted splitting votes, Once has it in the bag.
