I finally got around to re watching this film again and I can see why this became one of the most popular and well liked R Rated Blockbusters of the last decade.

The film approaches with a very high handed version of morality as the Spartans are cruel but defenders of freedom vs the barbaric Persians.
I can dismiss the historical inaccuracies but many parts are accurate and the film was fun to watch again.

However looking back the film does have some sort of a superiority complex that borderlines at racism but the thing is we all still enjoy this film. Its likely one of the most conservative minded blockbusters of recent times.

Even though I loved the end and the dialogue is over the top but really makes the film more epic.

It's a comic-book movie, man. Historical inaccuracy is expected. Believe it or not, but Superman never existed either.

There are some offensive things but you just overlook them...

I think many people say this film is fun because it becomes campy.

I found it a very serious almost over the top action/historical movie.

I just want to see some slow-mo, artistic fighting. It delivers.

Watched it last year on TV. Still good. It's totally an historical fiction film, though.

the best example of modern fascist aesthetic i've ever seen. from the dialogue to the characters, the story to the impeccable visual style, this would make the perfect propaganda film for the youth wing of golden dawn. a truly disgusting experience, and the worst film ever made.

Love this movie.

I remember just how crazy I was about it back it middle school. It's not the greatest film of all time, but it's one hell of a BLOODY, EPIC, AWESOME ride.

300 and Guardians of Ga'Hoole are Snyder's best films, followed by Watchmen and .......................... Sucker Punch

I mean yeah, it is super propogandic, but we're adults and know when bullshit is bullshit, so yeah, I enjoyed this movie despite heavily disagreeing with its message.

it doesn't have a (intentional) message obviously, but most racists aren't trying to be racists, and 300 isn't trying to be fascist. it just is.
