I'm a bit surprised. Cars is #1 among current releases at yahoo (ahead of OTH) and #21 all-time. It will drop as everything does, but that's still great.

The ratios are getting quite low lately for all genres.

It seems to be a direct effect of the new homepage, which takes more effort to navigate. I'm thinking we should probably assume lower ratios for all genres from here on out.

Stupid Yahoo and their crappy redesign. How dare they mess with the system :nonono:

I think someone should try and contact Fox News, CNN, and the other news networks. If the system continues to be as accurate as it currently is, it could be story-worthy on one of those networks. Of course, the added exposure could screw up the system as more people go to Yahoo and vote. Whoever thought of it is genius.

With four openers tomorrow, let's get some early thoughts on the ratios. I think we need to aim lower for all genres now, as the new homepage seems to be having an effect. Here are my thoughts for tomorrow, but since I'm not the expert, they are merely that. In parantheses is what I used a general reference.

Fast & The Furious 3 - 150 (used several action flicks- anyone know what the ratio for Too Fast Too Furious was?)
Nacho Libre - 100 (The Longest Yard)
Lake House - 170 (The Notebook)
Garfield 2 - 70 (Garfield)

I think Nacho Libre will end up higher. There's a lot of internet buzz on that one, so more
people will review it. I'd give it around 150 for a ratio, with TFATF3 also being a bit higher,
maybe 175ish. The others look like pretty good guesses to me, but I'm not an expert.

If having a real life involves work and college most of the time as well as a million other things I need to do (all without much sleep). :nonono:

Well, at least I was able to have some fun this week (well actually a lot of fun, but not much time for it), but at times like this I have to cut my KJ time first. To think it will be worse in the Fall with 18 credit hours....

I want to catch up on posting, but I need to get some sleep as I have to be at work in a few hours.

Ok, enough complaining.

I agree on Nacho; I had 150 as well. For Tokyo Drift I say 180. BTW, 2F2F was released before the current yahoo system.

Lake House probably won't be high with its demo; I think 110. Garfield 70.

xiayun, what are your thoughts on the TFATF3 ratio? Do you also think 180 is a good approximation? I initially thought 180 but adjusted it down to 150 because of the lower ratios we have been seeing recently.

I agree with DP on FF3 and Nacho. Think The Lake House might be a tad lower though. Must Love Dogs had a 105 and with the lowering of ratios I could see a 90-100. The first Garfield had a 90 ratio, not sure if its sequel will be much lower than that.

The only thing with Must Love Dogs is that it seemed more teen-oriented. The Lake House looks to target a primarily adult audience.

I think it's the opposite. Reeves and Bullock are much more apt to draw in the teen crowd rather than Diane Lane and Cusack.
