Each of the Potter pics have been enoyable in their own right, i'm quite confident that it won't be "bad", i don't think it can go lower than HP7-1, there's going to be lots going on right through.

It hasn't been updated since februari, and whoever updated it then forgot to add New Kids: Turbo's €1.494.103 opening from December. The only other ones missing from it are Gooische Vrouwen's €1.693.165 from earlier this year, Fast Five's €1.033.969, Hangover 2's €1.193.100 and POTC 4's €2.296.692.

I usually take their weekend chart (http://www.filmdistributeurs.nl/files/1 ... eekend.pdf is the most recent) and mess around with the year/weekend number to find missing numbers. Don't think the weekend chart goes back further than early 2010 though.

All of the statistics on that website make a whole lot more sense than the ones in dollars at BOM. I don't even know what kind of f-ed up exchange rate there was in December 2003 that gave ROTK an opening of nearly $4 million, or if BOM even got the right numbers (opening weekend instead of opening week).

LOTRs had it been released over the regular frame without the Wednesday would be much higher on the list.

Very good trailer and some very good new scenes which they haven't shown before. The music doesn't compare to ROTK trailer but they obviously showed a lot more and there were some mindblowing scenes there.

And i love how they played a bit of the nostalgic card, it's been 10 years already....and we've literally lived through each one.

As someone who is not a part of the Harry Potter craze, that is a fantastic trailer. Definitely going for the epic factor here.

I liked it and IMO is the best trailer for the movie and makes the movie really exciting to see in 3D. Still the scenes somehow looked the same to me just the different (time) versions of them (Hermoine and Ron's scenes with Fire and Water are probably repeated 3 times in the trailer but that seems to be from one big action scene) and probably some flashbacks that will not be part of it. The music is succinct though very similar to last trailer...nothing really special. I am sure though it might turn-off a few casual fans (families and teen girls) with so many action scenes and money shots.

I'm hoping this movie makes up for the lack of exciting action and scenes of HP7-1. The trailer is choca block of action and explosions. Sure beats Tranformers 3 trailer. LOL

The trailer for Hp7-2 will surely bring in those who have sat on the fence or on the other side of the fence the past few movies. I'm hearing a lot of people wanting to see this final release....for the sake of it being the last one and with big scenes

Before a certain date BOM posted weekly grosses for many territories rather than weekend grosses. For Netherlands the changeover happened in early 2005.

Which pisses me off because it's hard to compare some special pre-2005 movies such as LOTRs HPs, Matrix, Star Wars....etc to current movies.

I wonder if Harry Potter will finally break 60 million pounds in UK again.

Toy Story 3 did last year, so that mark is not not unachievable. It should do above 50m for sure, no question.

Admissions had plummeted since the glory days of the early 2000s, nowadays, you would have to wait for that odd breakout to see any mesmerising admissions totals. Avatar being the last foreign release to gross above 10m admissions. HP7-1 was the largest grosser last year but is miles away at just under 6m admissions. This year has already seen a breakout in the form of local, Rien A Declarer grossing north of 8.1m admissions. Potter 7-2 will need to do something special if its to claim the 2011 trophy; it would take a return to form not seen since the days of HP2 to beat this (looks very unlikely). I'm thinking it could top 7m admissions but not much more.

The Potter franchise has however seen a steady hold in opening admissions. All Potter flicks have opened to more than 2m admissions with the highest at 2.8m. The past two Potters have lingered around the 2.3m mark; this should comfortably beat that and may even challenge HP4 for franchise honors.

Is 3-D losing its dimension? One analyst thinks so.

Richard Greenfield of entertainment-industry tracker BTIG tells the Hollywood Reporter that sales of tickets for 2-D screenings of "Green Lantern" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" on the popular movie-ticket site Fandango are a sign of 3-D fatigue on the part of moviegoers.

"We continue to believe U.S. consumers are frustrated with the amount of 3-D movies Hollywood is producing, especially when combined with excessive ticket prices," Greenfield said.

"Green Lantern," whether in 2-D or 3-D, is being forecast as this weekend's No. 1 movie at the box office, expected to pull in up to $60 million through Sunday.

I wonder if this trend is going to continue and hurt next year's pics like Avengers, TDKR and The Hobbit. We could see a retracement in grosses, at least Domestically.

TDKR is in 2D. So there is no impact there.
