What happend to me was that I just truly thought WB could pull of a MR/HP with this films marketing, but in the end, they pulled a BB-type marketing, though better. I thought BB's marketing was shit. I thought Superman's marketing was horrendous. Atleast BB had good marketing material but terrible marketing execution plan. Superman had an awful everything .. including the marketing overload in the last 2 weeks TV spots for SR were better than BB TV spots IMO. The late-marketing push for SR was better than the late-marketing push for BB, which is why I consider SR marketing to be better.
i disagree with you quite a bit on this. I think SR had a couple of very good tv ads but then again, how could they not! They inundated every single thing!! their late marketing push is one of the worst piece of marketing I ever saw ... i do believe it may have brought in the extra dough but honestly, i dont hink (and this is a personal opinion) that the amount that was invested into that late marketing justified the extra money made by the project.
once again, i just think that BB had some horrible execution. Go to Moviebox and you'll notice some excellent footage for the film in their trailers. BB managed to impress people without using a commercially sellable villain, a bat costume that looked bad at times and a car that remained a subject of debate even now.

Just wondering, how is Superman128 dealing with Supes' failure over at BOM boards?

Superman128? Don't know who he is. All I know is Kal-El, the satan of Superman trolls, and he is not happy.

Kal-El 2006/Superman128 still keep implying Pirates has bad WOM and Superman has amazing WOM. He even used IMAX as an excuse on why it underperformed last weekend. He also thinks Pirates will end up with $270-$310 million. He's gone nuts, in summary.

I would hope so. If you spend upwards of $250M and ten years on a 2.5 hour movie, and you can't get a pick out enough for a good 30-second TV spot, then something is very very wrong.
I'm not sure I deserve praise here. I kinda fudged in and out of this club, thinking that the sledgehammer marketing would have bought a few extra million opening weekend. But I always knew it would be very close. it will still come close.

Please, it's the spirit of the club that counts, right excel?
Besides, without IMAX - hell, without 3D IMAX - it would've missed the mark by at least $10 million.

you need to put that text in bold and remove the line "so we win Ha!". It should resemble a certain posters post
