Even with the $107 m opening, the budgets these days are getting excessive.
Xmen 1 $75 m
Xmen 2 $110 m
Xmen 3 $210 m
What, were Berry, Jackman, Stewart, and McKellan each paid $20 m for this film? I understand the $20 m for Jackman, but the other three should have at most got $15 m. The effects I'm sure are enormous, but to go up 91% in budget from the last film, and go up 24% in opening weekend, doesn't match up...

By the way, congrats to DP07 for nailing the opening weekend 3-day, assuming it ends up at 102 million.

DP07's not a fanboy. He didn't even give the first two films in the series A's.
He's having a good month, minus The Da Vinci Code (kinda) and Over the Hedge.

Based on a $107 million opening weekend, I'm calculating around $255 million total with a 60% drop next weekend and a 50% drop for the next few weekends after that.

I expect a top out 260m-285m range, come mid June the drops should start to get pretty good

It seems that after the weekend numbers came in, Fox refined their estimate.

RotS was the first $100M-opener not to reach $400M. HP4 was the first not to reach $300M. X3 will be the first not to reach $250M??

Just keep in mind for a few weeks it looked like X-Men wouldn't hit 150 million, before it stablized after a couple of weeks.

I actually think it will probably be a while until we see that happen. Much like 40m and 100m, it's possible, but you need the prefect movie to open with the right amount and this one was a few million too high IMO.
