I know a couple of people who have stopped downloading movies/TV shows because it's much convenient to have Netflix and Pickbox here for less than 15 euros per month than waste time finding a torrent/download etc. and wait for the download to finish.
I'm guessing the effect is similar everywhere in the world - hence the rapid expansion of subscribers in the whole world for streaming platforms. But once you need to subscribe to a couple of platforms, then go search through them to find what you're looking for if you're unsure who owns it will open the door for another p2p stream/download service where everything will be easily accessible. It's like studios are forcing a full circle on illegal downloading by their stubborn refusal to work together.
